I need a new foundation and a new pressed powder

I'm using a Max Factor one but I want to treat myself to something naice

I have liked Lancomes Tient Idole in the past and hated Estee Lauders Doublewear (made me look dead)

I am pale and a lot of foundations make me look orange

I need good coverage so I don't like the mineral ones

What would you say is the best foundation and powder (dont have to be the same brand)

Im not too bothered about cost but probably around the Lancome mark.....Tom Ford seems very pricey and I've not heard great things about the coverage

I am on a similar search. Nothing overly helpful in the recommendation department but Dior Nudeskin also made me look dead even though the coverage was lovely. Just had a sample of Clinique extra benefit and that was ok for me but not great. Then one of YSL foundation which was pretty good but a bit greasy for me and wouldn't 'take' on my red (slightly rosacia-y nose). Am just onto the Lancome tient Idole but finding that oxides on me and also looks shiney after a few hours. So I can say what I don't like but like you am interested in finding something that I do like.

I have been using NARS Sheer Glow for a month or so now and I love it. It makes my skin look really nice. It comes in pale enough colours for me and it is not very sheer strangely.

I know it's lower price range but I like benefit's hello flawless. It has a cooler, yellow tone to it that suits my pale skin. I don't use powder to fix it. I also use their posie tint to add a bit of pink to my cheeks.

Clinique was too orange, as was mac. I find make up shopping depressing so I tend to stick when I find a good one.

It seems I am not alone

I might see if I can get a sample of the NARS and the Benefit ones

I dont think a tinted moisturiser would give me enough coverage....my skin is not great (although finding some miracle product to help me there is one my list too!)

I didn't think it would either but it did! Pop into local store and have free makeover

I have just started using benefit oxygen wow.

Its lovely on me. Gives good coverage and lasts well.

Best pressed powder I have ever used is the new Chanel Les Beiges. Bar none.

The nars sounds about right for you, and comes in vey pale shades. I have the sheer matt because I have oily skin.

estee Lauder double wear. best foundation I've found in my years of searching. love it. it's worth the money, and I'm a cheapskate

Laura mercier transparent pressed powder and the new estee lauder invisible one

I liked the DW in shell. But was discontinued Am now using the lightest Smashbox long lasting foundation and am pleased. I am very pale.

My favourites are Laura mercier silk creme foundation and Face atelier ultra foundation, both amazing coverage and great on my 32 year old combination skin

I got an email from estee Lauder the other day to say that due to popular demand Doublewear in shell is now back!

Another vote for Nars Sheer Glow, Nars powder is also brilliant.

Clarins Instant Smooth in 00. (or ivory or something)

They are discontinuing the range apparently because I'm the only one who loves it.

Best pressed powder is Clinique Double Powder. (only Clinique stuff I like is the powder, both this pressed one and their Double Light loose, but that was discontinued as well, am clearly a hex!)

The Smashbox one is good, but the staying power of DW is great, and mixing with DW light for summer.

everytime I run out of my Chanel Sunlit tinted moisturiser I look around for something else. I tried Dior BB cream this time and Laura Mercier last time, but I always go back to Chanel. It's the only product that I can't actually see on my skin yet it gives me a nice coverage. All the others sit in the creases. I have also tried and slung Mac and Lancome. Oh and I have used Lancome translucent loose powder for about 20 years

The MAC foundation is great for coverage. I suffered from blemish outbreaks as a teen and the MAC completely covered everything. I'm very pale and their lighter shade was done. Can't remember the exact name of the foundation though sorry, was on a glass bottle if that helps.

The foundation I use now is Clinique Perfectly Real. It gives a lovely colour, I'm so used to seeing myself wearing it that if I feel I look dead and grey without it. It sort of gives you a glow if that makes sense. It's very light but still gives good coverage.

So I'd say for covering blemishes the MAC is the best and for a more natural look and a lighter feel the Clinique is better.

I've always used benefit Get Even pressed powder which is absolutely fantastic.

I love make up and have tried loads and loads of brands and products and these have always come up best.
