Hi all, I am a size 22 but have previously been a 28. Have lost 5 stone and despite still being a big lady, am feeling good! Dh is having kids next weekend while I meet up with friends in home town and we will have some drinks and go to our local nightclub. Have been looking around and am struggling to know what to wear! I am at biggest on my hops and tummy but my legs are smaller and my shoulder area is too. Any ideas? Not really wanting to spend over £50...

I went out last night in Uniqglo leopard print skinnies (stretchy and like a thick legging) a thigh length black to (low cut) but loose, high heeled button ankle boots and a military jacket. i am a big girl but felt good and got several compliments. well done on the weight loss, i am trying Sad

But Uniqlo don't go up to 22, do they?

I have some black leggings with sparkly bits down the side could get one of these tops and maybe the boots but not sure if ok with leggings? I am 5ft 9 so lack confidence in heels. I am 34 btw.

You have done so well; what diet have you done??!! I'm bumping this thread as I despair knowing how to dress stylishly and more on trend whilst being a size 20?

Januarymadness · 20/04/2013 22:30

look for the sales in simply be and yours. John lewis you can search by size and price. The low cost range isnt massive but its worth a shot. Also debenhams go up to 22 as well.

cheekymonk · 20/04/2013 22:31

Thanks janji- I totally agree, never know how to be 'on trend'! Doing weight watchers and did couch to 5k which has changed my life. Thanks januarymadness

Regarding your style, I would look at pictures of Adele.

She is a larger lady and always looks elegant and stylish. Ok her outfits are expensive but you can get ideas for different styles in high street shops or online.

Avoid big patterns or florals as they are usually very unflattering and make you look bigger. Go for a block colour and then use bright accessories such as a statement necklace or bright bag.
