I'm going to a v v middle class wedding in the Summer which I'm sure will be awash with women in neutral coloured linen and fascinators.

I'm desperate to wear something more quirky/vintage but am a short apple shape. Nice boobs though.

I was thinking leopard print but can't find anything that looks ok for my shape.

Any thoughts on what I could wear? I need my arms covered but am happy with shorter hemlines.

I was going to say the same, and a little birdcage veil hat!

leopard print scoop neck 3/4 length sleeve dress

how about this one? Or scroll down page for more ideas, lots of leopard print styles there too.

The D&G is lovely but out of my price range.

Love the Viv of Holloway stuff and will visit them on Friday.

Thanks

That D&G dress is a stunner!

There's a leopard print merino skater-style dress in the Hobbs outlet that looks lovely and is under £70 but knit might be a little unforgiving round the middle. It has a scoop neck which looks v flattering though.

Oh dear ignore those links don' tknow what's wrong with it.

And

This was the retro one; needs bolero or cropped cardigan

oxcat1 · 17/04/2013 13:35

What about something from Joe Browns?

50s dress,
tea dresses or halter-neck?

All are £40-£50, and all are almost exclusively cotton.

oxcat1 · 17/04/2013 13:36

Sorry - none cover arms, but all would enhance boobage (I think.!).

ZaraW · 17/04/2013 13:41

Try www.getcutie.co.uk it's a small company based in Brighton they have a shop on E Bay or order from their own store. I have bought two skirts and a dress from them. Very well made and some fantastic retro styles and material.

Here's a link to some of their stuff.

oxcat1 · 17/04/2013 13:43

Agreed about Get Cutie, but do check the sizing very carefully. Tey use vintage patterns which means sizes are not as you expect, and the boob area, in particular, can be pretty unforgiving because if is so structured.

Fantastic designs and fabrics though! Sure you'll find fabulously quirky!

starfishmummy · 17/04/2013 13:52

I recently went to a wedding and had a dress from Lady V of London. It was sleeveless but for a march wedding I wore a bright shrug with it and went ott with my hat!

Prices aren't bad and it was a nice cotton with a bit of lycra

Ashoething · 17/04/2013 13:54

the online shop collectif have their dolores doll dress in a leopard print.its 60 quid and stunning.i bought one in the polka dot and its very flattering.

HellonHeels · 17/04/2013 14:36

That Collectif leopard dress is fab. What is their sizing like, Ashoething?

Ashoething · 17/04/2013 15:56

The dolores are generous imo. I bought a 16-my size-but I think I could have got away with a 14 as it is a bit loose on the bust. Incredibly flattering though-I am planning on wearing mine with my red petticoat,a red waist cincher belt and red shoes.

They have quite a bit of stretch too them but enough weight in the cotton to hang well.
. I am waiting on delivery of another one!

dontyouwantmebaby · 18/04/2013 10:20

oops sorry op I didn't actually check the prices (!!) was just trying to get an idea of what styles/shapes of dress you would like and saw some ideas on that page.

the Hobbs Betsy one above is fab and not too dissimilar (altho has a much more agreeable price) good luck Smile
