The old chestnut: what shoes with skinny jeans in Springtime?

I'm ancient (42) and a recent convert to skinny jeans. Boot cuts all went to charity, all my bridges are burned.

I found that all winter, my skinnies were great tucked into boots. Then in the warmer weather, they're fab with little pumps.

But what about all these Spring days when it's rainy out there, potentially a bit chilly, but not cold enough for boots? My default 'covered shoes' used to be trainers, but I can't wear them with skinnies, I'm short and a size 14.

Is there a middle way? What is it? Help meeeeeee.....

Converse high tops or Ash wedges for me.

Though I've been sockless in loafers/slippers/ballerinas for the last couple of weeks.

Slight hijack (sorry), but I have some lovely khaki hi-top Converse which I'd like to wear with my skinnies, but how? Tucked in? Over the top? How to not look completely daft?

Yes agree on the Zip Code. Am going to buy some next week . Think I'll go for suede and give them a good waterproof spray.

Russell Brand: YES. That's it. I don't want to look like Russell Brand (though being short and 'curvy', fat chance).

I think I will have to contemplate an ankle boot. I love trainers of all types, but worry that trainers and skinnies will make me look like a beachball with feet.

As it happens I put pumps on today and I'm not too cold.

Higgs, I wear my converse under my skinnies.
The first time, I tucked my jeans in, then I looked at the local teenagers and quickly untucked them.

Tan coloured brogues
Loafers
Converse in a darker colour so not too teenager!
