help me find a dress for a big night out

I need a cocktail dress or similar - pref ankle length. The problem is I am size 18, apple shaped, with a big bust. And I am 48!

I think this would be flattering as it would create a waist for you and might just flatter your bust... not mad on the shiny material and not everyone can wear that shade of blue but worth a go over a great pair of Spanx...? Is this too smart?

Handbag wise I would go for a non-matching box clutch. Depends how formal your event is.
