If you cleanse with a muslin cloth, how do you care for the cloths?

I like this type of cleansing but after a while the cloths become too soft and I don't feel they work as well. How should I wash them and how often? At the moment I wash them with the whites, and have a new cloth every 2/3 days, I also take my foundation off first with a baby wipe as I hate the way it stains the cloth.

Chuck them in the washing machine. Not as often as I should.

BellaVita · 14/04/2013 11:23

Same as whatabout.

Wash but dont tumble

miche8 · 14/04/2013 11:29

Oh I do tumble dry them, do you think the fabric conditioner is ruining them?

I use one a day (max 2 days) and put them in machine with whites. I don't tumble.

ellesabe · 14/04/2013 15:37

Cleansing with a muslin...?

Ogooglebar · 14/04/2013 15:46

I put them in the machine with the whites and have a new cloth every 2-3 days, like you. I don't tumble dry them or use fabric conditioner - that could be what's making them soft? Anyway, doesn't fabric conditioner leave some residue on the fabric? You don't want to be rubbing that on your face I would think...

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/04/2013 16:44

I cut them into face cloth sized pieces and swear blind to dh that I don't know why our laundry has white fluff on it.

I wash them with towels so no fabric softener.

twentythirteen · 14/04/2013 16:51

Wash and allow to dry naturally, no fabric softner as I don't think my face would benefit from that. And I only change them weekly with all the bedding and towels, but I think I should change the muslin more often!

Limoncellolovely · 14/04/2013 20:15

Wash with towels tumble dry but don't use fabric softener as weirdly this seems to make them hard !!!

Marylou2 · 14/04/2013 20:36

Bung them in the wash with the towels 60 degrees. Also tumble dry. I use fabric conditioner in the wash. Clean cloth every day as I have loads. Never worried about fabric conditioner before, doesn't seem to bother my skin.

coffeeinbed · 14/04/2013 20:38

Washing machine, tumble dry - I never use softener.
Iron. Fold and stack.

NotTreadingGrapes · 14/04/2013 20:46

Wash every day, just sling them in with whatever colour wash I'm doing.

Ogooglebar · 14/04/2013 20:50

coffee you iron them?? I'm impressed Grin

coffeeinbed · 14/04/2013 20:58

I know.
It's sad but I like the stack of them, all nicely folded and ready.
Can't help it.
