I buy men's marks and spencer ones, find that they are better than the ladies ones.

Falk ones are nice

I've got some of the angora ones from M&S - the last lot of plain black ones I got were really thin, as you say.

I like GAP socks.

I got mine from boots. It's never occurred to me to complain about them, but then they were reduced to £1.25 for 6 pairs [bargainbrag]

I have several pairs from Boots which are very comfy and have washed well.

No brainer: SockShop online: www.sockshop.co.uk

I've really gone off M&S socks, which seem to wear thin v quickly. And I bought some cashmere mix ones there (probably about 1% cashmere, let's face it) and they left black fluff wherever I went.

Gap socks used to be very good but I haven't bought any for years and I think Gap quality generally is pretty shocking now.
