Help Out A Shit Shopper: Smart-casual trousers that aren't jeans?

Happy to pay in the region of £60-£80 if it'll get me trousers in a medium/heavy fabric that doesn't show every lump & bump.

I have a big arse (but working on shrinking it, trousers are one of my planned rewards when I get to my weightloss goal), big hips but relatively narrow waist. I like tomboyish outfits but I'm not a fan of loose-cut, 'boyfriend' clothes.

Please help, as I seem incapable of viewing all the stuff on ASOS / walking through shops without getting overwhelmed!

I find Banana Republic trousers pretty good, flattering and true to size. I'm short and they're always too long on me though. The sloan fit is very flattering.

I have just bought these. They are lovely thick material with a slight stretch and a bit of a sheen. They are quite flattering and really comfey,.

I love linen trousers but maybe they are a bit loose for what you want?

Kione · 12/04/2013 18:52

what about chinos?

MrsBertMacklin · 12/04/2013 19:29

Banana Republic ones look nice. If they're meant to skim the ankle & I'm a 33" inside leg, will the 31" leg ones be okay?

Not a fan of linen trousers Lettice, just because they don't really go with the kind of things I'd wear on top.

Chinos might work, I've never worn them; are Gap's any good?

Thanks for the help so far.

Unfortunately A&W have gone bust but there sister company Jack Wills sells these

Which look exactly the same (perhaps slightly lower rise.....)
