Where can I find girls denim pinafore/dress?

I've been trying to find dd (4.6) a denim dress for spring and cannot seem to track a nice one down. I bought this one from Next yesterday but it just doesn't suit her shape and it's hard to get on and off too.

I've had pinafores before and they go with everything but the other ones in Next are either out of stock or a bit plain and/or stiff. Wasn't really wanting to spend £18 on one, but I can't even find one on ebay I like. It's got to be soft, not too narrow so she can run round in it and a bit of embroidery/decoration but no ruffles! Have searched online but cannot find much choice (perhaps because I am so fussy?). Can anyone help please?

Ah I came to suggest the Next one. I agree it is quite narrow at the top but suits my 2yr old dd at the moment as she's still in nappies so the flare out is perfect. Not sure I've seen any others lately.

Although the one I've got is a bit different than ^^ that one. It's much darker denim and no sleeves.

I saw the one I think you mean yesterday, I just thought she couldn't move around in it that well, previously I've had more a-line ones. She's an active 4yo!

boden? DD (5) has one from there with a flower applique on although it's a few years old now. i buy big and she wears them from ankle length till positively indecent with leggings underneath!

QueenCadbury · 07/04/2013 12:32

Have you tried the supermarkets? They often have denim dresses. I can't recall having seen anything lately but I've been looking at age 2 and 8 ranges.

I'll have a look in H&M, thanks. Boden don't have one at present, I know the flower one you mean on eBay but thought a bit pale to go with the tops she has. Cute though!

John lewis has a fantastic one, sorry on iPad and don't know how to link

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 07/04/2013 13:17

Jojomananbebe or gap

accessorizequeen · 07/04/2013 13:59

I didn't really go for the John Lewis one, sorry. Too plain & I don't like dungaree-style (yes, I know, I did say I was fussy!). JoJo didn't have anything and I think are now too small for DD anyway. Gap have this little number which I really like but will it look good layered up with long-sleeve t and leggings?? I'm not v.good at dd dressing, she has 3 brothers. Confused
Don't think I've seen anything in Tesco or Asda, will try to get to Sainsbos. thanks, all! Anyone else?

La redoute have a lovely lined soft denim dress, sorry don't know how to link!

BassDownLow · 07/04/2013 20:36

Next have a few nice ones.

Mothercare always do a pinafore style one.

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 07/04/2013 22:12

There are 3/4 styles on Zara, here, I personally like the one with the sleeves that roll up.

accessorizequeen · 08/04/2013 20:58

thanks again for suggestions. La Redoute ones were quite sweet, I'm considering those. Mothercare nothing in dd's size. Zara often comes up trumps but those dresses all seem very grown up for a 4 year old as does much of their stuff. I'm considering just swapping the Next dress I have for 2 sizes up in the hope that she can get it on and it will fit her better but she suits dresses that don't stick to her tummy and this one does! Shall keep on looking!
