With the benefit of hindsight, which item of clothing/bag/shoes/accessory do you wish you had bought multiples of?

Mine is my black leather Jane Shilton bag. It was an impulse buy in Costco (of all places!) as I needed a new black bag for work. If I had known then how utterly perfect it would be, I would have bought a couple more.......... Have since bought other bags which are similar but none measure up to the black one.

Have plenty of other handbags, as it is a bit of a 'thing' with me, but have used the Jane Shilton one more than any other and it is now getting to the point it needs to be replaced and I really wish I had another one (or two, or three!) ideally in different colours as well as the black.

In terms of looks, it is not the most exciting of styles, but it goes with everything because of that - work or casual. It is big enough to get everything I need in and yet small enough to fit in my drawer at work. The design of the interior compartments is absolutely perfect as it has sections for everything, so I never find myself digging around for things and can separate items that I need to have with me but dont use on a daily basis from things that I need more regularly. The straps are long enough that I can wear it as a shoulder bag if I need to be hands-free, but short enough that I can carry it.

What is your 'perfect piece'?

I bought Bloch ballet flats in brown leather and snakeskin from TK Maxx.

Then stupidly posted a thread about it on here and all TK Maxxes across the country immediately sold out of the buggers before I went back to buy all the other colours. Have worn both to the point of them falling apart, and there's no way in hell I'm paying over £100 for more Sad

I bought a cream boucle jacket/cardi with tiny gold stud buttons and a rounded hem from Zara last year. Loved it so much also bought the mint green in same style and then bought another of cream one for when the first one wears out! Blush it was in the sale though.
I also wish I had bought another pair of some amazing flats I bought in selfridges about 11 years ago, they were about £200 which is the most I have ever spent on shoes but I still wear them every year and they are my most fave shoes ever.

My M&S limited collection high heeled sandals. Perfect slender heel, a turquoise and navy print that screamed "Pucci" and only £20.

I wore them all summer, got loads of compliments on them! They were the most comfy heels ever.

I didn't have the Internet then, and I'd just met dh so I wasn't interested in shopping as much but if I saw them on eBay I'd buy another pair like that .

Brilliant [american brand] snow boots-waterproof,black with a furry lining, small heel,non-slip and really nice looking.I bought one pair for dd's skiing trip and said we would share.Of course we've had so much snow dd has tripped off to school in them most days.I've been forced to buy a pair of fugly non-slip Cotton Traders boots[after nearly slipping into the path of a juggernaut off our icy rural footpaths].If anyone goes to america buy a pair-they really are brilliant.

TM Lewin shirts.
These are really very nice indeed and when you buy 3 they cost £25 each.

I had a lovely top from Boden it was a heavyweight tshirt with sequin trim at the neck. Went with everything, could be dressed up or down, was superflattering. It finally fell to bits after 3 years and I was gutted. By the time I realised how good it was it was sold out and I've never seen one on eBay ever. Sad

The tuxedo skinnies I'm currently wearing. Only from Primark but they are flattering, super comfortable and look really good on my massive slightly bigger bum. Went back for more but they'd sold out in my size Sad

A Coccinelle handbag that I bought a bit more than 10 years ago when Coccinelle was reasonably priced and great quality. The one I've got is a nude one. I just wish I'd bought it in black or brown and a bright colour too. It's the perfect size for me for an every day bag and it's been mistreated for a decade but still looks good.

V-neck ribbed merino cardigan that was £4.99 in the sale at Uniqlo about 5 years ago - bought to keep in my desk at work but actually I carry it everywhere, winter & summer.

The ribbing - it's sort of lacy not like tight ribbing - means it's so lightweight & soft that it folds up to scarf size & fits in a handbag and can fit under the tiniest jacket to add a bit of warmth. It's dull looking (was once smart) & doesn't go with everything, but mostly I just use it as an emergency layer so you wouldn't notice.

I dread losing it, it's starting to get a couple of holes which I've mended, I'm constantly looking out for a replacement, I'd happily buy something much pricier to replace it but I've honestly never seen anything like it, even in posh places that sell investment price cashmere.

And it was £4.99! I'd have bought the rackful, even in boring black, if I'd know how useful it was going to be.
