Bobbi Brown foundations- emporer's new clothes?

Anyone else feel the same? I have 3- stick, moisture rich and skin foundations. I stuck with BB because I am porcelain and finding anything pale enough is hard. I have 'transparent' skin ( according to a dermo) which is fine and unlined, 'normal, but with terrible blue under eye circles and no colour really.

All the BB foundations have sheer coverage IMO. The Moisture Rich disappears in 2 hrs, the Skin Foundation needs 3 applications and the Stick drags your skin when applying.

I tried the Long Last and it was so matte it looked unreal.

I use primer but not powder ( don't like the effect.)

Thinking of trying Nars, maybe going back to Clarins ( though too perfumed really.) and have heard good stuff about Amarni.

So anyhoo- is it just me who is not convinced by BB for the price?

I agree but cant find a shade that matches.

Missbopeep · 06/04/2013 12:14

Porcelain matches me well but it's weird- I have Moisture Rich and it is at least one shade darker than the Skin Foundation yet each is Porcelain. Confused

I wonder if MR has oxidized in bottle as there is no pump so air gets in each time you open bottle to use it.

Try the Liz Earle foundation (not the skin tint). If you get it from www.qvcuk.com then you can send it back, the lightest shade is very porcelain

Aaaaaaw- thanks LFC. I did buy that and had to give it to DD! The next shade up is much too dark and I got a refund for that!

I can't get a BB shade to match.
Dd bought one and she looked like an oompalumpa, so got her money back when I went with her to complain.

Mrsrobertduvall · 06/04/2013 12:59

Laurie...did your dior arrive?

BinksToEnlightenment · 06/04/2013 13:17

They last all day on me.

BinksToEnlightenment · 06/04/2013 13:19

I think you might need a tiny dusting of powder. Just a little eeny dust.

I use illamasqua skin base or missha bb cream #13 which is the palest

If you can find a shade for your skin in the YSL touche eclat foundation it realy is amazing , stays put all day , looks natural . It is £££ but I use such a teeny amount it lasts ages.

phinz · 06/04/2013 16:23

Same here, Bobbi Brown disappears entirely after a few hours, even with primer and powder on the top.

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/04/2013 20:23

I've just bought Armani maestro and it seems v promising.

EmpressMaud · 06/04/2013 23:19

I quite liked my foundation; good colour, good coverage (though not as good as EL double wear, which I've returned to and am currently using) but the bottle leaked and I had to throw the stuff away.

I've just bought a Clinique foundation in alabaster (the pore range) and it looks orange!
I'm tempted by the touche eclat foundation, but not sure any of the shades look pale enough for me.

rootypig · 06/04/2013 23:33

YSL Teint Eclat is the dog's danglies

squoosh · 06/04/2013 23:49

I love that Porcelain is an exact skin match for me but really dislike the patchy coverage that all BB foundations give.

I'm now using Nars Sheer Glow. It's fantastic.

squoosh · 06/04/2013 23:50

Aside from the foundations though there are many BB products that I love.

I have found Laura Mercier do very good pale face shades.

ZacharyQuack · 07/04/2013 00:36

Another vote for Nars Sheer Glow. Bloody gorgeous it is.
