Yellow dress for funeral

I have to attend a family funeral next week, the family have requested we wear bright colours (teenage boy - so sad). I'd like to wear yellow because of personal reasons relating to when I last saw my cousin. Has anyone seen any yellow dresses on the high street that are "appropriate" (used in the loosest sense as I appreciate yellow is not de rigueur for a funeral)?

I am on a budget so under £60 would be ideal. I'm 11 weeks pg so a bit bloated with it, apple shaped, normally a size 12, 5"4.

Topshop have a few yellow dresses in at the moment.

Just on asos at the mo. I didn't want to wear jersey - I'm still just about svelte enough not to need to. Wink

I know it's a budget buster, but it's nice boden

So sorry to hear about your cousin.

cheaper hobbs

NotAQueef · 05/04/2013 14:08

this lemon one is nice, it looks a bit short, but the model is 5ft10!

NotAQueef · 05/04/2013 14:14

Also maybe this one?

Thanks for all these suggestions - luckily my favourite is the Zara one (and not the Boden one!) so I will see if I can find it in town tomorrow. The shoulder pads worry me as I have coat hanger shoulders as it is, but we'll see. :)

I like the zara one too Smile it's pretty easy to remove the shoulder pads in zara clothes.

UniqueAndAmazing · 05/04/2013 17:07

yes, take the pads out.

Primark have some cute dresses in summer colours, and they aren't revealing or skimpy.

I cant do links-sorry-but Lady Vintage online have a lovely yellow floral tea dress-think it is £30. It is my new fave online shop after it was recommended on here.

MeerkatMerkin · 06/04/2013 11:48

Will pop to Primark this afternoon, thanks. :)

Some of those Lady Vintage dresses are gorgeous! Is the quality good? I found the one you're talking about and it is lovely but they only have it in stock in a 12, which normally would be fine but I'm wondering if it will be too constrictive in my current bloated state. Think I will see how I get on with more shift shapes for now.

I saw a Littlewoods one by Myleene watsit in a magazine today, it is yellow, crossover, v neck, £60. I actually quite liked it.

m and co had a lovely yellow and grey flowery dress in.

Sorry to read about your cousin though :(
