Anyone else bought or tempted to buy the new short shorts in at Zara at the moment? I have just succumbed to the navy spotted ones.

Mutton, me, mutton.

But fetching mutton.

Bur what do you wear on your feet ms mutton?

That is the problem. Sigh. More shopping tomorrow, helas. What would you recommend?

no, not heels, but noyhing scoutsy either

If you are long and lean then flats would be ok, maybe ballet pumps. But I would look like an oompa lumpa with big bottom, so I'd say heels, but maybe wedges. Less muttony then proper heels me thinks.

I am short and skinny.

Am off to buy new capsule wardrobe - and do quick shoe hunt and supermarket shop and back in time to do french lunch thing with dh and assorted children. Will report back. Asked you on foodie thread Northerner which chateau you ate at?

I got strappy but not too high wedge sandals, very fine blue and white pin stripe, the last pair in my size.

Meanwhile, saw my first pair of credible city shorts today amongst all last year's white gypsy skirts.
Quite thought she was wearing a pencil skirt at first - very elegant indeed.

not sure I have a wardrobe niche for Glamourous Shorts though - camping etc one needs Famous Five Shorts

they are nice. I want to go to ZARA now!

I also got a slinky silk dress and a fifties style boxy jacket and two shirt dresses

I actually need navy pantacourts....

So would anyone else wear these shorts or am I the only mutton on mumsnet?

I quite like them, and would wear them if I had the figure for them but alas I don't :(
