I have Hair like Paulie from the Sopranos......it is refusing to dye. Help.

Now I would LOVE to just accept my grey. I love grey hair. What I don't love are these grey wings with darker hair elsewhere.

After a failed attempt at accepting my hair colour I dyed it with Nice N Easy cool medium brown. This is the only dye that seems cool enough to match my hair colour. I did the wings first and left it on for 40 mins. As I was wiping around my face after the colourant was all washed out I rubbed the skin next to my temple and the White just reappeared! Gah!

My white hair is visible within days of colouring. I can cope with this but I don't want to get back into double processing with bleach again.

Advice keenly sought.

I look rough blonde or with highlights.

As long as you don't have the same style as Paulie you'll be fine. Perhaps you need to grow it a bit, work on the condition?

I lurve my gray 'wings' - I look proper striking. But I really have to work on cut and condition or I look like a straggly auld witch.
