Urgent S&B help needed! What can I wear with this dress?

This dress

DP taking me out for birthday lunch today. Just got this dress and it looks lovely on but wasn't planning to wear it until warmer weather so hasn't thought about what to wear it with. Gorgeous sunny day here but chilly so bare legs are not an option (for more reasons than just the weather, if I'm honest). Can I wear black opaques? What about footwear...planning to go for a nice walk post lunch so can't wear heels. I have an array of low heeled boots though. Would boots work?

I'm not sure about with opaqued but sheer tights would be fine. Make up for it with other layers and I think you'll be ok :)

I don't actually own sheer tights and no time to acquire any.

Can do slouchy cardi, scarf etc and can also do leggings & ballet pumps. Will see which looks best.
