Blonde back to natural colour

Should I do this?

I'm currently blonde (highlights) but natural colour is dark golden strawberry blondey type colour.

Fed up with upkeep and have decided my natural colour would make me look a lot better than a brighter blonde.

But what's the best way to do this?

All over colour?
Permanent or semi?

I need help as I am useless at hair things (but now covet that babyliss curly thing that been on the s&b thread today)

Thanks in advance

I got the hairdresser to stick a semi on that was close to my natural colour, it worked a treat.

Could I do that at home?

With a shop bought dye?

Yeah I don't see why not, be careful though they always come out a couple of shades darker so bear that in mind when your picking your colour.

The dye kind of stains the highlights and so when it's fading they look really natural and blend in with the rest of your hair. I did it in Jan and haven't bothered to colour it since, saving a ton!

Semi is a lot gentler too.

To be honest your bleach highlights will be porous so whatever you choose will fade quickly so I wouldn't go too light. 7.3 or 73 mixed with 7.0/7 or dark golden blonde mixed with dark blonde will be nice. You can mix half of each then use it again when it fades.

My hair sounds like the same colour as yours. I had it highlighted for years but stopped when preg with DD. after she was born i had balayage to blend the two contrasts better and then let nature take it's course. It looked really cool actually... Sun kissed. All the blond has mostly gone now just a few natural streaks and i love it's condition... I used to hate the colour but now i love it- it's different and looks healthy too. Go for it!!

so should I bite the bullet and go back to dark blonde?

A DIY jobby?

And if it all goes terribly wrong - an appointment with my hairdresser in reserve?

If you really can't stand seeing the routes for a while then go for it... Or maybe you are better off getting a hairdresser to do it?

OP, have you seen Superdrug's 3 for 1 on home hair dye?

I was thinking of buying some but I've never coloured my hair at home before..

I'm hoping someone on here will offer some advice...

If you only use a semi it'd wash out anyway. Plus I've heard anti dandruff shampoo strips semi colour?
