What are you favourite dark nail polishes and why?

I need to revamp my collection...don't like black because I can't pull it off with my skintone but near black is fine.

Rimmel Celebrity Bash (deep red), Black Cherries (v dark reddy purple) and the very dark blue one, can't remember the name.

I have pale skin and they all compliment it well.

Another vote for Rimmel here. Desire is a lovely deep, deep blood red. Always get compliments when wear it. I like Black Cherries too Queen but find that particular range (the quick drying one I think ?) goes awfully think in the bottle and so doesn't last very well. Have I just been unlucky ?

Fanjo My bottles of black cherries go gloopy towards the end as well. I put a couple of drops of nail varnish remover in and give it a shake and it's usually ok then.

I love black cherry too. Mine has lasted years. A drop of nail varnish remover will ungloop it.

Got lots of OPI and Mavala nail varnish - mostly dark red, purple and black colours. All last really well and the Mavala dont chip much if applied with top coat after.

I usually have my nails done in Jessica Geleration - my usual colours are Venus was her name, Shall we dance and Notorious. Again, purple, dark red, dark purpley blue.

Essie over the top is my all time favourite, quite rock and roll but chicer, especially (IMHO) for ahem, slightly older rock chicks.

Also love midnight cami by Essie, beautiful rich metallic blue.
