How to get rid of dyed red hair at home?

I would like to go to a light brown, I've heard that those colour stripping kits don't work and I've been told to bleach it then dye over but I'm worried this will wreck my hair. I can't really be arsed to go to the hairdressers but if there's no other way I suppose I will have to.

Any tips/experience?

Go to a hairdresser. You'll turn it a patchy shade of orange/yellow if you do it yourself!

MYHD Hair Colour Remover . Did a much, much better job than going to a hairdressers for stripping - faster and not painful at all. Have used it to return to a base blonde from red and dark brown (am naturally very blonde).

I think you can get it on Amazon or eBay for shipping in UK?

Oh and have had my hair stripped twice professionally too! MYHD works better!
