Is this a massive fashion faux pas?

I have been living in dresses with a cardie, black tights and boots.

Can I still get away with this when if the weather warms up? And for how long? I'm assuming I'd look a complete idiot in the height of summer, but spring and early summer, is that ok? I would not be going bare legged I don't think, I'd have to switch to skin coloured tights or leggings.

I'm not keen on dark tights once Spring (?!) hits and it feels a bit warmer. Having said that, I then don't know what to wear on my legs with skirts/ dresses - am not adverse to some natural tan tights but if I wear with flimsy shoes I still get cold feet. Hence I usually end up wearing ankle length trousers in the summer with trainers/ brogues/ ballet pumps/ sandals.

I think it's just a pit fall of British weather, you can never really be dressed properly for the weather. I always find if I'm going to work I get dressed at 6.30am, so can be prepared for the weather outside, but usually by lunchtime, the weather has totally changed and I'm either too cold or too warm! It's either that or carry a change of clothes for all occasions with me at all times!
Although in the summer, I do always have a pair of flats/flip flops under my desk because the heating system at work is a law unto itself!

Regarding footless tights - what do you wear on your feet with them? And don't they just look like leggings?

They are a bit more delicate than leggings...I wear wedges, suede ballet shoes, brogues

I wear a lot of 50s dresses and skirts. In the summer I either wear sandals, ballet pumps, Swedish Hasbeens or tan ankle boots. I quite fancy a pair of traditional Scholls this year (like we wore in the late 70s). Bare legs are my preference (St Tropez gradual tanner is your friend, here) but leggings occasionally worn too.

If you like Lady Vintage on fb then you will find lots of offers and promotions. I don't work for them-promise!-though I think I should be getting some commission as I am telling everyone I know about them!

I am hoping the dress I ordered cones today-sorry I cant do links but it is the Heart print swing dress if anyone wants to have a look! I am planning on wearing it either with or without my red petticoat, red cardigan and with style it up with either red/nude shoes and a red waist cincher.
