Which Jo Malone body lotion will I like?

Or indeed any other recommendations for nice smelling body lotions?

Have got big party coming up and not really a perfume wearer. I tend to like layering shower gel and body lotion.

I like stong smelling, citrus or sort of old fashioned flowery, like rose. I liked the body shop's bergamot range but think that died a death!

So thought I would plush out and treat myself. Any recommendations?

I have the pomegranate noir and the orange blossom. Like the pomegranate one best x

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 26/03/2013 18:23

Ooo Im a massive Jo Malone fan, my favourites at the moment are the Wild Bluebell and the Blackberry and Bay which is just gorgeous. They do do a rose one Im sure, can you get to a shop and get some samples?

JennySense · 26/03/2013 19:37

I have the orange blossom and red roses - that's a great way for you to wear perfume :)

timidviper · 26/03/2013 19:42

I have Jo Malone Grapefruit which is a lovely fresh citrussy fragrance and my favourite one is English Pear and Freesia which is just gorgeous

knitknack · 26/03/2013 19:58

I've just treated myself to the nectarine blossom and honey which is GORGEOUS! I suspect this isn't much help with us all recommending different ones!!

Spottytin · 26/03/2013 20:16

Ha ha well thank you all so much, how am I supposed to choose!

Sadly I live nowhere near anywhere that stocks Jo Malone so will have to cross fingers and just go for it. Is te orange blossom citrusy? I don't like vanilla type perfumes, does that cancel any out?

If you go on the Jo Malone website they break down the fragrances in each cologne, that might help. To be honest they are all gorgeous Grin

Spottytin · 26/03/2013 20:46

Right, I am off to the website. If I end up blowing all my money on buying lots of different ones I shall hold YOU ALL personally responsible!

I have the orange blossom too - it's not citrusy, it's very sweet, in fact it smells just like orange blossoms :D. I used to have a small citrus orchard in NZ so I know the smell well and It's spot on. I agree with dreams - they ARE all gorgeous and when you buy one you gett o pick a sample of another. So you can plan your next treat... I have the bay and blackberry too, and that's musky and warm - would be good for dh actually. My fave is def nectarine and honey though, I have the scent AND the body lotion of that one!

knitknack · 26/03/2013 20:48

Oh and if you're going mad get a candle too! I had an inheritance recently and went completely mad :D

Dawndonna · 26/03/2013 20:49

My sister wears the Grapefruit one and smells divine. Me-it smells like a cat has sprayed, but I do strange things to scents.

AuntPittypat · 26/03/2013 21:02

Lime, basil and mandarin is my favourite. For a real pampering treat, get some bath oil too. After that, and slathering on the lotion you'll smell yummy for hours and hours. It's such good stuff. Think I might go and run a bath now!

QuickLookBusy · 26/03/2013 21:26

The orange one is my favourite. I absolutely love it.

I like to smell my own arms when I have it onGrin

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 27/03/2013 10:28

Spotty, you have to come back and tell us which one you buy now!

This thread has made me think I have to go and get the orange one now, or maybe the nectarine blossom and honey, but I also like the sound of the english pear and freesia...............aghhh Grin I wanna them all Grin Grin

McGilly · 27/03/2013 11:12

You would love Lime Basil & Mandarin, citrusy and complex. I also love Grapefruit but it is more a one-note wonder.

Lorelilee · 27/03/2013 15:26

I wear the Grapefruit one for 'day' - it just smells so CLEAN -the cologne is not 'heavy' at all, I layer shower gel, lotion and cologne. For a while, I tried to find another perfume that wasn't so expensive as I couldn't justify the expense, but I caught a whiff of it on someone else and realised how much I love it - I just cut back on other stuff now. I have a small bottle of Orange Blossom which I wear in the evenings as it's lovely too, but if I had to stick to one it would definitely be Grapefruit.

Spottytin · 27/03/2013 22:09

Right, I've ordered the lime, basil and mandarin.

I was determined I was only buying the body lotion, but surprise surprise, have also ordered the bath oil and body wash!

I went for the blackberry and bay sample cologne, but am now sorely tempted by the orange blossom....... Thank you all for costing me a fortune!

I got quite excited by the shampoo, love my hair smelling nice, but the reviews put me off a bit......

Ok spotty, you are going to smell lufly Grin poor, but fragrant!

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 27/03/2013 22:20

That was meant to be oooo not ok, damn autocorrect Angry

knitknack · 28/03/2013 06:56

Lovely! You'll be so glad you treated yourself!

notjustamummythankyou · 28/03/2013 12:21

The orange blossom cologne is lovely! Do it, do it!!

I've also got the pomegranate noir which I'm not too keen on when worn alone, but I do like the orange blossom and pomegranate noir worn together. It makes a very nice 'evening' perfume.

Go on ... splash out some more ... Smile
