Boring but necessary... brown liquid eye-liner, please help!

For years I used a Boots No. 7 brown liquid eye-liner which was fine , but when I went to replace it last year , I found the new tube was incredibly claggy and thick, unusable. So I'm loathe to buy it again..but am conflicted because it really was a good eyeliner. Has anyone suffered this problem? Maybe it was a bad batch.
My requirements:
-Brown
-Liquid
-Waterproof because I have a hot face and everything melts!
Thank you and apologies for banal posting !

Oooh I was having exactly this issue today! Going through my old make up and deciding what to ditch etc.

So, I used Prestige's dark brown liner for ages and ages, not officially waterproof but never budged and cheap. Also liked the brush.

Now use Body Shop brown/black liner. Ditto on waterproofness.

I actually just threw out a No 7 liner as it was much worse than those other two.

Googled - this is the Prestige one.

Rimmel have a brown liquid eyeliner. I buy the one with the felt tip pen style applicator rather than brush.
