I am just a little bit in love with The Sartorialist and can waste far too much time browsing through his site archives. Can anyone recommend any other decent style blogs? I'm 37 and tend to prefer classic, as opposed to overly trendy styles. Thanks!

Love those blogs Claudia! Very me.

Not that I have tons of money. But I like the kind of look they go for, and these things can always be re-created with less expensive items. In fact I now have some inspiration for what to wear with my new navy heels from Wendy's look book. So thanks Wendy!

I used to love love 'alreadypretty' (US based) but then the writer gave up her job to blog fulltime and did lots of sponsored posts and the shine went off for me. But I do enjoy her take on size-ism and body image.

I adore Casey;'s elegant musings.... also US based. Casey is into vintage style, and sews herself and I love that. i wish i had her style (and looks!).

I've just spent an enjoyable hour looking at these but they all seem a bit too young and casual for me (I'm in my 50s). I have lots of classic pieces black trousers, white shirt, navy shift dress etc but would like ideas to make them look more modern. Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks

Wendy's lookbook and Atlantic Pacific are faves of mine. I also like What I Bought Today.

Of course the first two are lovely, but of you're not a size six some of the outfits make look slightly different...

If and may. Fat fingers.

I like the look of What I Bought Today too Amber

That foreveramber blog is fabulous. I want to be her!

Is there a database anywhere for fashion blogs where you can tick boxes for colouring, height, size, work or casual etc and it will come up with suitable blogs?

If there isn't, there should be!

Pseudonymity · 28/03/2013 19:41

I really enjoy Sart for the photography and he has a great eye for detail which comes from looking at menswear, where everything is about the precise length of a hem etc. Wendy and Atlantic aren't as imaginative - they both look great - but it's also a bit girly and handbaggy. 40bum seems lovely but she does go in for the drape - big time! Kudos to her for being able to pull off every style of waterfall cardigan known to humankind. She looks great. I'm yet to enjoy one as much as Sart. You could try Garance - his girlfriend.

Fuckitthatlldo · 28/03/2013 20:03

Yes I've had the odd look at Garance Dore but never quite got into her as much as him. I do think she often looks lovely herself though - there's something very obviously French about her I think.

Queef can I just say I think your name is genius. And so's your idea actually! If I had the technical know-how I would totally steal it.

Just had another look at yours, Amber. Your new Next jacket looks great. :)

livingabstracts.com Utterly brilliant. I tried to start a thread like this a few minutes ago, but think I failed, as I suspect I've put it in the wrong place. Living abstracts a new one full of things I'm busting to wear, will start looking through some of these others!! Thanks all.

rubytutu · 29/03/2013 21:46

really enjoyed this thread. just marking my place for a very long boring journey this weekend.

I love blogs for inspiration...I am so late to this discussion. Some I read for the fantasy and some I read to inspire me in the everyday. Being a mum I need a bit of both. I really love Suburban Faux Pas, Crazy Style Love and Falling in Style. They're all Canadian and don't take themselves too seriously.

Some great links, excellent! Just one more that I follow that no one mentioned:-

the-northernlight.com/

I like her style though be warned, she's in the loadsamoney camp. Still worth looking at though as the looks can definitely be recreated more modestly.

Just had a great time reading this feed! My own favourites are:

Anna South Molton Street Style
Anneli What I Bought Today
Alex The Frugality

Does anyone have any new ones to add?
