Best colours for auburn haired baby?

Need a little S&B help please
I have a five month auburn haired girl. She's been wearing mainly hand me downs and gifts so far but I now need to buy her some summer clothes.
Which colours would best suit auburn hair? She has a pale complexion and greeny grey eyes (although they seem to change colour almost daily)
Tend to shop in gap/h&m/John Lewis/boden sale etc for the kids
TIA

My DD wears a lot of turquoise. Really compliments her pale skin and auburn hair.

Green! I love green and it looks stunning with reddish hair.

My DD has similar colouring (though hair probably more towards red than auburn) and looks well in a range of colours. Brown is very good (though not common in baby clothes), also green. And strong pinks. Red hair much easier to dress than I realised.

Peach, Apricot, Coral, Cobalt blue, turquoise. All bright warm colours with a yellow/gold undertone. Ivory, warm yellow. Some autmn colours might work - it really depends on eye colour. The right shade of green is lovely - you might have to hold it next to her face to see.

Green, blue and grey, some shades of purple (darker ones rather than lilac).

Pale yellow looked lovely on dd when she was an auburn baby.

SofaCanary · 21/03/2013 16:53

Yeah, soft yellow is delicious.

starfishmummy · 21/03/2013 16:56

I am auburn and "my" colour is green

My Dd2 is auburn haired, she looks gorgeous in deep reds, burnt orange, plums, think real autumnal colours.

But don't be afraid to try colours you think would look awful, Dd2 suits far more colours than I thought she would with such distinctive colouring. Bright reds look lovely which I really didn't think would.

These are the kind of colours I'd go for,

and here

but I guess a lot of it is down to personal taste too.

DD is ginger-ish/auburn and I find most colours work really when they're young. But she does particularly suit purple, green, turquoise, teal, blue. I find H&M particularly good for those colours. And at the moment if you hand in a bag of old clothes there, then you get a voucher for £5 off £30.

AWimbaWay · 21/03/2013 19:34

Agree teal in particular looks lovely.

JumpHerWho · 21/03/2013 19:38

I think we need to see a pic to check how cute and squidgy she is her colouring.

shugfish · 21/03/2013 22:33

Thank you for all your suggestions.
Very very useful and loads more colours than I would ever have considered.
Great tip re H&M, good way to recycle and restock the wardrobe in one hit.
Would upload picture but have no idea how to.

My ds is auburn and as a pp said, suits strong autumnal colours. He can wear most colours as long as they are strong enough. We just steer clear of anything too pale and pastelly as it makes him look washed out. Ditto cream/beige - they are dreadful on him - white is OK but I have a no white policy for my dcs lol.
