Where do I go for decent quality nude tights?

I'm after a good pair to wear for a wedding and have NO idea where to buy tights from these days! I think the last time I wore any other than thick black ones was when American Tan were in fashion Wink

I'd like nude ones, but so that they look natural and aren't too sheer if possible. And good quality so i can hopefully avoid laddering. I've looked on the Next site but they all look very shiny?

Thanks so much!

I have no specific advice apart from avoid Primark. The nude tights from there are just not worth the trip to go and buy them never mind the money.

Wolford are the best. They cost a pretty penny but are soooo lovely.

CockBollocks · 19/03/2013 22:34

The best tights I have bought are actually from Boots!! Have tried various others and they seem to be the best for me.

Haven't tried Wolford although I couldn't afford them!!

Pretty Polly oil sheen I like but get one wear
Falke about £10 quite hard wearing (for disposable tights)

polyhymnia · 20/03/2013 10:08

I find the nude tights in M and S very good - 5 and 7 denier, non-run and very believable colours. Various finishes, included oiled if that's your thing.

Personally like these much better than Boots. Wolford are great too.

Pseudonymity · 20/03/2013 10:27

Try Falke matt 20 denier. M and S matt tights are not bad either but nowhere near as hardwearing as the Falke.

Wolford

Or Falke As runners up.....

polyhymnia · 20/03/2013 11:02

Yes, I'm also a Falke fan.

susiefen · 20/03/2013 12:05

The bare cooling sheer oiled tights from M and S are pretty good - they have a really nice sheen on them, but are still very sheer and are £5. They're 7 denier but they claim they have 15 denier strength.

I second the M&S ones- have tried various of their nude tights and all look good (as in not obviously wearing tights). The oiled effect ones in particular really do look like you just have fabulous legs, but they ladder incredibly easily- all their others seem to last well though.

I suggest you look into micro fishnet nude tights.

CryptoFascist · 20/03/2013 16:49

I have often seen micro nude fishnets recommended on S&B, mirpuppet, but have never seen any on sale. Where do you get them from?

MrsMeow · 21/03/2013 17:20

Thanks very much everyone - I'll have a look at the weekend :) the dress I'm wearing is a 50s style so fishnets may look good, but I like the idea of some with a slight sheen as well.

Thanks for the ideas!

Personally my favourite tights ever are from fiore. I've never seen them for sale in the shops but you can get them off ebay. I think they're better than Wolford at a fraction of the price!

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 21/03/2013 20:28

Bizarrely I've just mentioned this to dh cos he's got a thing about me in tights and he said you ought to go for Wolfords! He knows what they are! Shock Apparently he bought me some after conferring with a friend. Shock Hmm Grin
