I need to take better care of myself. I'm a bit inspired by the aforementioned threads and wondered if there's anyone else who needs a list and some discipline?!

.... I'm just thinking that there's no point smothering my face with expensive creams if all I'm putting into my body is caffeine chocolate wine and toast.... Blush

I'm in, but creating my own list and starting from tomorrow!

Mine is:

Moisturise morning and night (face and body)
Drink more water (I drink a a lot of tea but hardly any plain water and more liquid won't hurt me)
30 day shred, plus at least 20 minutes on exercise bike every day.
Multivitamin every day
Carry on with the diet, had a hypno gastric band so portion sizes are better already. Got 4.5 stone to lose!
Make an effort with clothes, started to dress better for work (can wear what i like, but been doing black skinnies, patent heels, a blouse and a blazer and feel much more professional)
Do nails frequently.

Hello everyone!

It's been a rough time for us as baby DD Has been in hospital (on the mend now thankfully!)

My copy of the 30 day shred has arrived so I am going to kick that off this week!

Today we are doing a massive roast dinner to thank 2 of our friends who have been really helpful to us lately but I am still going to:

  1. Body moisturise
  2. Paint my nails
  3. Scour the Internet for a new hairstyle.

How's everyone doing? I've had a rough day at work, but plan to be lovely to myself as soon as I've finished this lovely soothing bottle of wine

Can I join you ladies please? I have a 6mo DD and now she's no longer tiny I'm trying to take better care of myself again. I usually sit her in her bouncy chair whilst I have shower and do body lotion etc then she lays on my bed and watches me put makeup on.

I'm so desperate to keep this up that I'm currently trying to do manicure (minus nail polish) in really dim light whilst she is in her cot next to me Grin

Grin Grin Grin at chunky monkey!! That's what I need to do more of, rather than lying round drinking wine! Hope you got finished and she didn't wake up

Report
chunkymonkeybaby · 02/04/2013 23:40

Grin I finished before she woke up, 'twas a quick mani but nails look better nonetheless.

Drinking wine sounds lovely Graceless Smile I wish I could! A bit of what you fancy does you good, I think so anyway.

Well so far I am managing to do a proper cleanse/tone/moisturize every day, and use eyecream. Exfoliate lots too and use those scratchy glove things in shower. And body lotion every day. Trying to keep nails nice

Posted too soon. Also weekly hair treatments. I'm a bit rubbish at drinking water but trying to remember. And I did buy vitamins for breastfeeding, just have to remember to take them!

Well I booked a hair appointment for next week. Scoured the Internet and I am going for a jaw-length bob which will hopefully stop DD constantly pulling my hair.

I managed 2 litres of water yesterday and took my vitamins.

Today I will give myself a pedicure and do an exfoliating session in the shower!

gracelessCreamEgglady · 03/04/2013 12:57

Hurray! I've done exfoliating and moisturising, make up, healthy breakfast and lunch and vitamins. And I'm about to go for a walk. Oh and did 25 squats. It's only tiny compared to shredding and wotnot but I might do another 25 later....

I dug out my micro pedi again. Just need to figure out how to change the blue buffer bit now as the one on is a bit worn down. Did my nails yesterday too, no colour but filed and buffed and oiled.

An hours walk on the beach today, it was lovely and warm but puppy wants to walk by the dunes where the sand is soft (and harder to walk through). I know it's good for me but I really didn't feel able today.

Have been cleansing and moisturising and eye creaming twice a day and have 3 spots on my chin! Am hoping they'll clear up!

Also dug out bare minerals night treatment and have started using that again.

I have soo much stuff that I've used a few times and then given up.

Is there anything I shouldn't use as I'm pregnant??

I love Fushi products too! They are good value, especially if you buy several items and share with friends; to get free delivery. The Argan oil is very good, if a little odd smelling. But for me the Shea butter, which is one of the cheaper products, is the best. It comes in a jam jar (no money wasted on expensive packaging) and you may have to use a spoon at first to get it out. But be patient let it melt a bit and rub it into your skin, hair, hands wherever. I've always had very dry skin, hate wearing tights etc but if i rub this into my feet and legs before pulling on tights I find that my skin is still soft and silky at the end of the day when I pull my tights off. I also rub it into my face for moisture boost and into the ends of my hair. I tried the carrot oil but forgot i'd rubbed it into my face before dashing off to shops - not a good look (judging by the glances I got) and it can stain clothing!

Hello,

Can I join?

In the last few weeks I've sorted out my house cleaning regime, my bad eating habits and exercise.

But I'm sitting here un showered, hair scraped back, old work tshirt (haven't worked there in about 7 years) and leggings covered in paint (I wore them when I painted my utility room a few weeks ago, and the paint hasn't come off in the wash).

Where do I start?????

OneLittleLady · 03/04/2013 16:46

Start with just one thing, say giving yourself a manicure or committing to weekly exfoliation in the shower. Baby steps Karbea Smile

Sound advice onelittlelady Smile one thing today, maybe put some make up on, tomorrow body lotion, next day paint your toe nails.

Today I have had breakfast (again! 2 days running!!) and vitamins all washed down with berocca, and then..,

Body brushed
Exfoliated face and put a face mask on
Got in the bath, scrubbed self with a scrubby mitt and something frothy
Shaved legs
Got all rinsed and put moisturiser all over when I got out.
Have just filed and painted nails and am about to put make up on once moisturiser has sunk in a bit.

I feel lovely. I should do this every day.... Grin

I'm trying to keep up with a decent routine but still end up with dryish hands, lips etc. Looking after 6mo doesn't do much for your looks does it!

Oh well, she's worth it Grin

Chunky, get some hand cream either lots of little tubes or one big one to decant into smaller tubs, and put one next to your bed, the kitchen sink, in the loo, you get the picture. And every time you wash your hands, or think they feel dry, put some cream on. Xx

chunkymonkeybaby · 04/04/2013 22:20

I have the hand cream on every sink but am just too lazy to use it sometimes Grin

Well I've done quite well today. I used my Ojon restorative hair treatment, did a proper cleanse, tone, moisturise, exfoliated as well actually. Used an eyecream as well. Body lotion too, I'm getting good at using it after every shower.

I also managed to sort out my nails properly, as I had done a crap job doing them in dim light a couple of nights ago Grin

I sorted my nails and took my vitamins. Other than that, I have been a shit princess today. To be honest though, that double decker was worth it Grin

I have been quite good though, doing the killer Tracy Anderson DVDs, drinking loads of water, moisturising quite regularly, haven't had any wine for a fortnight (this is genuinely amazing) and I've just bought some Olay regenerist night stuff that will make me look 15. I think.

Am so impressed with myself about the wine. Now just need to tackle the coffee habit.....

Hi Graceless

Well when I do my nails I file them, into a kind of 'squoval' shape I guess. I have a Leighton Denny crystal file which is really nice. I then sort out my cuticles using cuticle remover, I think the one I'm currently using is a boots own brand one. I then buff my nails and use some cuticle oil (usually OPI Avoplex) and handcream, my favourite one is the L'Occitane Shea butter one. I used to use OPI nail envy or paint my nails but don't really have time to very often now.
