H and M normally do nice colourful just-below-the-knee ones with an adjustable elasticated waist and narrow leg for about £5. Light brushed fabric which needs no ironing Grin ds has had a pair from there last 2 years - one blue, one red - so do hope they are doing them again this year as first pair are likely to be too short.

Boden - I'd already bought some for my two, but when I saw theirs in the shop, wish I'd got them.

Did get some lovely 3/4 length casual shorts/trousers though.

I like the Boden kids stuff cos it wears well and stuff passed down to ds2 still looks good as new

Adams have some with adjustable waist (elastic on button method like maternity!)
They were plain colours, about knee length.
£7 I think, but buy one get one half price at the mo, from age 3 to 10 I think.

my very tall skinny ds is still in his age five shorts even though he's in age ten trousers, i would try adams too and buy younger age.

My skinny boys find school trousers from sainsburys (the TU range) fit great, small waist and both standard and long leg sizes available too.
Last years shorts (not school) were good from there too.
I also found their school white polo t shirts kept really well too, so i definatly recommend them!

Yeah can't he just wear a smaller size? All the boys shorts these days seem very long and DS who is 5 has a range of shorts from age 2 to age 5 which all fit around the waist but are shorter in the leg than they used to be.

ds is very skinny, I just get him ones with a drawstring waist, or with belt hooks.
