I've had my hairdryer 11 years - its Vidal Sasson, powerful with three heat settings, a few speeds and a cold blast. What should I look for - there's too much blooming choice! I keep hearing about Parlux. Are they worth the money - which one? Ionic dryers? Help!

Definitely Parlux. They're the best.

Parlux. Motor like an aeroplane.

RustyBear · 15/03/2013 21:15

I bought a Parlux after a recommendation on Mumsnet - it is excellent.

MrsMcGregor · 15/03/2013 21:36

Okay, Parlux it is. Which model does anyone have and where is the best place to buy - online? Oh, and do they have a super slim styling nozzle?

Thanks!!

I would like to know about Parlux too as mine is on its last legs.

BelleDameSansMerci · 16/03/2013 08:38

I got my latest from here. It's this model too.

jammietart · 16/03/2013 09:03

Parlux here too. I have the Eco one bought from amazon.

JesusBuiltMyHotrod · 16/03/2013 09:11

My Parlux is 10+ years old and still going strong so worth every penny in my book.

RustyBear · 16/03/2013 12:30

I have the same one as Belle except mine is pink - I got it from my local Sally's

RustyBear · 16/03/2013 12:33

Has Parlux ever been on Mumsnet Swears By? They might give a discount - too late for me, but I'm thinking of buying DD one for Christmas...

RustyBear · 16/03/2013 12:35

Answers own question Not sure which model and whether that's the cheaper (non-ionic) version or a discount on the more expensive version.

TheBuskersDog · 16/03/2013 13:00

I used Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy from Beauty Expert.

Thanks! Am dithering between the 3200 Ceramic Ionic and the 3800 Eco Ceramic Ionic - the first is £69.95 through Parlux UK and the latter £79.95 with the same supplier. Will have to order one or the other tomorrow because if my own dryer dies, I won't be able to leave the house! Wink

I too bought a Parlux on MN recommendation, tis fab.

valiumredhead · 21/03/2013 12:34

Get a Parlux, they are fabulous!

They are so powerful you just need a basic one, no need for the ionic what not imho.

I think mine was £55 and the model number is ermmm 3600 or something..

valiumredhead · 21/03/2013 12:36

Just checked and it's a 3200 Compact - although there is nothing compact about it at all as it's a full size hairdryer and the same as they use in my salon. It comes with 2 nozzles and one is very very concentrated and slim and the other is just normal.

LOVE it!
