Calling people who machine washed their UGG boots......

How are they holding up? Still haven't dared to try this yet. Just wondered if there'd been any problems since?

Watching, I've never dared do it either.

I have and they are fine BUT I am an indoor Ugg wearer(I wear mine as slippers- Aussie style) so can't vouch for waterproof quality after washing.

But as far as the shape holding up and the general condition......they are just cleaner with no other issues to report!

Done mine loads. It works. Cool wash, obviously, and stuff with newspaper to dry. Ive had mine for years, and still look good.

I rarely wear mine out - only to the end of the road and back so not fussed about them being waterproof. I just wondered if the suede looks okay or does it go compressed and shiny? Does the colour change? Mine are tan.....
Do you wash them with standard washing liquid/ powder or something special?

Did mine a month ago. Still going string, same as new!

After the last thread about this I washed mine. They are the tan ones, v old and I felt I had nothing to lose. I didn't like their appearance after washing though. They were clean but sort of washed out looking and dull. I think I'd rather have had them a bit grubby but more 'normal' looking. I did them with non biological powder.

Ooo, I didn't know you could do this. My ugg-like fitflop boots are looking worse for wear so I might give this a go.

Mine have got lighter, I have had them 5 years though and washed them a few times. I don't think they were waterproof to start with.

Are they meant to be waterproof? I'm pretty sure mine aren't!

Mine are black and disgusting - I was thinking I might try this when the snow goes. Any experience with black?

Yes I do mine - and at 60 to kill foot bugs - fine, but they can come out a bit chalky after a few washes.

My black ones look greyish and a funny colour after machine washing. Got a suede dye but plucking up courage to try that.

I washed my Celtic boots and hated the way they felt after...but put them aside for a few months and now I love them like new again. They just felt dry and too tight initially.And I mean tighter than when they were new. But now are perfect again. I usually just use mine in the house but have been known to do the school run in them as the thought of taking them off in the cold weather is too awful.

I've got the cardigan style ones, they've kind of gone a bit loose with wear but I'm assuming it's because they are made of wool and wool does tend to stretch. I'm kind of hoping a wash will tighten them up.
