Late last night i applied the johnsons holiday skin lotion on my legs. I used the intense one as i wanted a quicker effect. Any way woke up this am with tanning lotion in between my fingers and also really streaky around my feet how do i get rid of it without rubbing my skin raw! Arrraagggh it could only happen to me....

charliecat · 05/05/2006 16:23

yep, great look isnt it? I have it tooGrin

Sorry , nice to know its not just me...dunno how to get rid of it!

TinyGang · 05/05/2006 16:26

I keep hearing this about the Johnsons lotion. Would it help to have another go with a different lotion - maybe it'd cover it? (Maybe it'd look worse though)

I was recommended the Nivea one the other day but haven't tried it yet.

nail varnish remover?

sugarfree · 05/05/2006 17:06

You can get remover wipes from Boots (and probably other places as well)

BettySpaghetti · 05/05/2006 17:09

I'm sure I've seen fake tan removal wipes in small sachets in chemists -can't for the life of me remember where though. Try asking at a few chemists.

I've been using the Johnstons one too but haven't had a problem (so far...) -been ULTRA careful about rubbing it in and washing hands after though ( had a bad experience a few years ago where I looked like an OOmpa Loompa! Grin)

babyonboard · 05/05/2006 17:31

lemon juice, mixed with grainy sea salt! and scrub with a nailbrush..you'll look pink but it works!
lather yourself in olive oil afterwards to bring down the redness and make you all soft again...

or if it's just your hands thataregoing to be on show clean your bathroom from top to bottom with 'cif' cream on a cloth, then wash yourself really well

babyonboard · 05/05/2006 17:32

oh..or boots do 'soltan' tan remover wipes..dunno if theywork

Luggs · 06/05/2006 09:25

Get a fannel and dampen it. Squirt on Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner and rub away. Probably highly unrecommened but it does get rid of fake tan.

colditz · 06/05/2006 09:27

vegetable oil and sugar, rub it together in your hands like a soap.

charliecat · 06/05/2006 16:48

how did you end up looking and what worked???

mum2sam · 06/05/2006 20:42

I actually used the body hair bleach as i already had that and that helped oh and i cleaned the bathroom. When you aply fake tan do you apply it everywhere or just a specific part of your body. Ive just done my legs so have got an unfflattering tidemark above my knees Grin Oh i must recommend the johnsons face cream not sure about their intensive night cream

I mix it w/a regular moisturiser to tone it down, mum2.

Ditto the body lotion.

charliecat · 06/05/2006 21:44

I am applying all over, before I get into bed and when I get up. Novelty will wear off and I will go back to white soonGrin

Luggs · 07/05/2006 17:41

To avoid streaks was told that after applying lotion wipe over knees, ankles and elbows with a baby wipe or cotton pad with water. Seems to work for me.
