What does a vintage-loving mum wear down the toddler group?

I've recently given birth to my second child and am struggling with clothes for 'everyday'. I love vintage clothes and quite a retro look generally, but am at a loss to translate this to a comfortable and practical day-to-day style that I can wear easily, whilst playing with a toddler and caring for my newborn.

I need things to be washable, comfy and hopefully attractive!
Any ideas?

I find that rolled skinnies, top and cardi buttoned at the neck with vintage-y hair and make up is easy to wear while running around after a toddler, but still keeps my penchant for rockabilly/vintage Smile

Depends which era you're into.

Mine is the late 60s/early 70s, so polyester and wipe-clean boots are quite apt Grin

Scented - what shoes do you wear with rolled up skinnies?

Tethersend - Hard to pin down, but I do like a lot of preppy 70s, Ali Macgraw, big flares etc...
I suppose what I need most is a soft jacket, ideally washable, tops to wear with wide-leg jeans and shoes/boots...
any suggestions?

Either leopard/floral ballet pumps, or peeptoe low wedges Smile

Lurex tops (tank tops especially) hide a multitude of stains, clogs are great, polo necks, suede jackets, good sunglasses.

What size/height/colouring are you?

Am pale, dark hair, tall, size 8 (ish) with a bit of post-baby jiggle! Grin

Ah, well you can wear bloody anything then Grin

Waistcoats are fab, and a great way to pull an outfit together. Some a line skirts, particularly a denim one, a shirt dress, neck scarf.

And when it warms up you can break out the hot pants and gogo boots Grin

Yes, hot pants on standby. Grin
