I need shoes for a dress

I normally wear chunky boots, wedges, Cons or Birkies.

I am going to a close relative's 70th birthday garden party in July and want to wear this dress. I have had it a few years and rarely worn it, because I don't know what shoes to wear with it. Everything is too clumpy for the dress, too slim for my chunky calves, don't know what colour. Help!

And to make things fun, I have v wide size 8 feet. I broke my ankle in my teens and have never really got the hang of delicate shoes.

Thanks

I think a more delicate wedge may be your best option, something like this from KG?

Do you want a heel?

FamiliesShareGerms · 05/03/2013 22:36

Agree a wedge sounds like your best bet, especially for being outside. I'd look for navy, myself, or a very patterned fabric

What's the budget?

I like these fromHobbs...

Thanks for help ladies

The Hobbs ones are nice, but I know from frustrating experience that I will not be able to get my feet in them.

Not sure about the KG ones, and it's always hit and miss whether they'll fit too.

Nine West, Clarks, Next and M&S generally fit (as do DM and White Stuff, but hardly appropriate I think).

What does anyone think of these? And they come in a wide fit! Also in neon pink, but maybe too bright?

The pink ones are nicer, not too bright at all, but if the garden party involves walking on grass kitten heels will sink in. What about these wedges or these?

FamiliesShareGerms · 06/03/2013 22:57

I must be getting old because I like both the Clarks and the M&S shoes...! (The Hobbs ones were lovely, but I agree not kind to the wide of foot)

What do you think of these? New Look sometimes fit, it's a length problem as well as width.
