What to wear on legs with spring/summery work dresses

I'm back to work in a couple of weeks after a year. I've bought a couple of dresses to boost my confidence and because I'm too fat now for my pre baby clothes.

As it will be spring I have bought shift type dresses in summery colours. But what do I wear on my legs with these as it's not going to be that warm for ages yet? Even when it is I don't fancy wearing bare legs as my legs are horrid and i would be self conscious. Is it just nude tights really and can anyone recommend any that don't look old ladyish? Thanks

Falke Shelina tights are the business. They give a totally natural bare leg look without horrible Kate Middleton shimmer, and without being thick enough to 'see' like you can with M&S 'nude' but not really tights.

They are quite expensive but I find they last well. I have 3 pairs at any one time. Also I tend to get the hold ups so that if you get a ladder in one leg you can still keep the other as a 'spare'.

I get the 'powder' colour in size small. I am 5'5" and ordinary fair skinned colour and this works for me.

I buy them from mytights.com, which often does offer codes.

Good luck on your return to work!

Footless opaque tights can look OK with shortish shift dresses - depends on how formal your workplace is, plus it's a look some people just randomly loathe if that matters to you.

I quite like having a cm or so of bare ankle with brogues or ankle boots, not so keen on the look with ballet pumps as it looks a bit like leggings (& I have veins on the top of my feet).
I rate M&S thin cotton tights for spring & summer as they are really matte, and a tiny bit translucent which gives some shaping to your legs.

Nude tights I have worn to weddings where opaques wouldn't work, & Falke are really good quality.

(Falke thin cotton tights come in more interesting shades but are more ££s as well).

What about opaque dark tights?

Thank you I will have a look for those tights. I thought black would look a bit odd in summer although may be ok for when I first go back in March.

I love coloured tights. Makes your look a bit more interesting and not too £££.

I know what people mean about the footless ones looking like leggings, but personally I quite like that look even with ballet flats.
