Help! Am stuck for ideas. Attending a friend's 50th birthday party in NYC in April. Small group (6 to 8 people), going to a champagne bar/ cocktail bar /very smart dinner.
Want something elegant, glamorous & fun. Loved the deco-influenced beaded/sequin stuff of last year. But am now having confidence crisis - don't want to look a git. Saw this in FCUK and love it ... but assailed by doubts now:

It's full length & sequins. Is that too 2012 / too OTT / too try-hard?
I need something with sleeves as upper arms are horrid & chunky. Rest of me OK so style can be straight/flared/whatever. Any colour but pastels. Comments, advice?

I've got time to look around as not leaving for another 4 weeks. Going to Westfield on Wednesday to try stuff on. Any suggestions would be very gratefully accepted.
