What do I wear to a black tie event

Hi all. I'm going to a black tie event mid march. I'm size 18/20. Any suggestions? I can't find anything. It's an award ceremony with posh meal so I need to feel good but be able to sit down comfortably and not crease!! Don't want to spend a fortune though.

Do you want full length?

Sleeves?

What's your budget?

Posh frock I'm afraid.

Would prefer sleeves. Could I get away with under £100?

Not bothered if short or long.

I went to one recently and wore a poncy black knee length dress from Monsoon (with sleeves!) . I spent ages doing my makeup and chose good shoes (doesn't really matter if they are killers cos you'll be sitting down most of the night anyway). Enjoy yourself! And remember that after half an hour most folk will be too drunk to notice what you look like anyway.

It had a raw silk gold underlay tho. think it was left over from Xmas because it only cost me a tenner! I wore it with a black fur bolero and satin high heels.
