What has happened to my hair?

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone could help...

After I gave birth to my third child, I experienced hair loss. This has settled now thankfully, but my hair just feels weird

Like it's not smooth anymore? A bit wiry maybe? Sometimes even the day after it's feels like it has residue on it...

I don't use any hair products, don't style or straighten etc so I'm unsure what's happening!

Thought maybe it was my shampoo, so changed to a non silicon etc one from boots (naked range) and there is a small difference but still unsure...

Has anyone experienced the same? Never happened before, and am not sure what I can do!

Would appreciate any advice!

And also have had an increase in facial hair :'(

Have you been tested for PCOS? Could explain things?

UML · 02/03/2013 18:09

I was actually tested for this some time back...was inconclusive, and wasnt tested again...

Try Boots clarifying shampoo - lovely stuff. Naked made my hair like straw ! I got hairy after having ds -I blame the hormones!

Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner are far and away the best silicone-free hair gunks I've tried so far, they manage to smooth and soften without cones.

No idea about the PCOS but sounds like you should get checked out.

Thank you for the shampoo suggestions, guess I'll have to experiment with a few - more spending :(

It is normal to loose some hair after birth. It does grow a lot during pregnancy. Mine was beautiful when pregnant and start falling down few months after I gave birth, but that's only the extra hair that grew. It lasted for 2-3 months only and now my hair is back to normal, as before pregnancy.
