What to wear with nude lace dress

Problem is what to wear over the top - it might be rather chilly being April, and we'll be walking back. I'm also on a really rather tight budget! I've seen this, do you think it would work? I've never really worn a dress like this before, I tend to stick to safe option of wrap dress, so a bit unsure really.

I suggest a purple top, like a bolero, a shawl or something. Purple is actually great with nude, I saw Vanessa Paradis looking stunning in that combination, and I have also worn it myself and got many compliments.

I don't think a white jacket would work with a nude dress.

I wonder if the white jacket might look a bit insipid with it though? Something darker maybe like this also from Matalan (and bearing in mind the sleb is wearing burgundy lipstick), but in a ightly dressier style if you can find one, might look good.

Definetly go for a colour. Burgundy, Purple or Navy Blue.

There was a bit of a thing for black with nude not so long ago - but I think ot's too harsh and dulls the lovely blush tones. To be avoided imo.

Ah see I tried on a navy tux jacket over the top of the dress in the shop, I really liked it but shop assistant pooh-poohed it. You don't think it'll over power the dress?
