Maxi skirt on a short arse

I am really short - not quite 5 ft. Will a slim fit jersey maxi skirt make me look daft? I am a size 8/10 with a slight pear shape. I have really awful knees and can't bear to get them out in the summer - which isn't a problem most of the time thanks to our weather Confused. But sometimes I would like to wear something other than skinny jeans or chinos. Would this look work, or will I just look like an absolute knob? I don't think I can pull it off but dh thinks I can. Any advice gratefully received Smile

I think you could, but perhaps wear wedges to give you a bit more height? Also buy from a petite range so it doesn't swamp you! I think if you're a size 8/10 you can carry most things off, even if you're short.

I'm the same size as you! 4 foot 11 and a half.

i want a long dress but I always look like a child playing dress up in her mums wardrobe

Of course, this is the thing, I've actually got to find one first! I dunno. In my head it works, but in reality...

I do this all the time - imagine I will look cool then look like a frump/idiot!

I'm 5ft 3, suze 10 and have some maxi skirts I wear in the spring/summer. Trick is to wear the fitted jersey tube styles rather than the more billowy ones. They had some in gap last year. They also have them in primark at the moment. Only £8 and reasonably thick material. I got a plain navy one. Also with the jersey ones, you can just hoik them up...no need for alterations!
