Can anyone recommend products to make me look less tired/stressed?

I turn 40 in a few weeks and would like advice on products to help me look less tired and stressed. My husband left me nearly a year ago and the stress has taken its toll. I am still not sleeping very well and have two children to look after and a stressful job.

I have dark circles under my eyes and look knackered.

I also have hyperpigmentation can anyone recommend something to help/disguise that?

I want to get a few products and try and look after myself a bit better.

My fave new product is Soap and Glory peaches and clean cleanser. Was recommended to me by a friend and my skin is glowing since using it.

Sorry to hear you are having a stressful time. I have been too and here are some things that are helping:

Take a multivitamin. I eat badly when I'm tired and stressed, and a vitamin makes a big difference to how I feel.

La Roche Posay is really good skincare range, it was recommended to me by a dermatologist friend and it is great stuff. They have ranges for so many types of skin - there must be one for yours. Its in a lot of larger boots stores and mid range in price.

There are a lot of concealers especially for under eye circles. Bobbi Brown do a good one and so do Benefit. Maybe you could get to a dept store with both brands and get them to conceal one eye each so you could compare and contrast Wink

A really pretty lipstick helps too, I love the Dior Addict ones, but I had a Boots voucher recently so tried these and they are just as nice as the Dior, and I got 3 Boots ones for the price of one Dior, so one in the bathroom, one in the car and one in my bag!

I love Lisa Eldridge, she is in her 40s and looks stunning. I love how she looks a bit tired and washed out at the beginning of her videos and gorgeous by the end. There is hope for us all

I find it really hard to sleep at night when I'm stressed, it's hard to shut my brain down. A brilliant trick that really works is to count backwards from 100. If your mind wanders off go back to 100 again. I have trained my brain to fall asleep before I get to the 70s

I hope some of these are useful and that life gets a bit easier for you soon Thanks

Hi, my hubby works away in the week so I'm on my own with the kids and get very little sleep or time to look after myself....I feel for you. I think that just being able to make myself look a little less rough really helps me feel better about things in general, and like I'm not completely failing on all fronts!

Best concealer I've found for dark circles is By Terry. Pricey but so worth it. You only need a little and it lasts for longer than Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent ones.

Origins pinch your cheeks blusher. Again pricey but lasts, and pink cheeks always perk up your face.

Every couple of days I put some body moisturiser with tanner (Dove or St Tropez) on my face, arms and neck, putting some lightly under my eyes. The orange tone knocks out the blue tone of the dark circles. I do this when I'm super tired, and people always tell me I'm glowing when I'm secretly hanging!!

Tinted moisturiser is good too, Nivea do one that I like which isn't too expensive.

Liz Earle cleanse and polish makes your skin glow and feels like a treat, but a cheaper version is Boots Botanics.

Don't know about the hyper pigmentation but the concealer I use helps to disguise scars so might work for that too?

Hopefully next time your ex sees you he'll think that you're thriving! X
