What to wear for a get together with an old friend....

Meeting up with an old friend next weekend and seriously need some help with what to wear
We're heading to a local pub, which will no doubt be full of young people all looking gorgeous and I don't know what to wear.
Didn't know whether a dress and ankle boots would be too much, or jeans and a jacket?
Want to look gorgeous but don't know where to start. Can anyone recommend any outfits or give me some links of things to wear.
I'm desperate Smile

I'd go for jeans and a jacket. Wear a trendy scarf or necklace, or some dangly earrings to dress it up a bit.

Is this friend male or female? Wink

FabMum1 · 24/02/2013 22:00

This friend is male, whom I haven't seen for a long time, we used to be lie best friends.
Want to look trendy but not like a teenager

You need to describe your height/ shape/ colouring/ age etc so we can help properly!

FabMum1 · 25/02/2013 18:16

I'm 5ft8 n a size 8/10
But I seriously am terrible at putting things together

I would go with black skinny jeans or trousers, a black or neutral coloured top and heels that you feel comfortable in.

Is there any... um... ulterior motive for this meeting? On either side?

FabMum1 · 26/02/2013 19:58

Thanks lulupalooza, I do have some black leggings from gap, styled like jeans.

I could wear it with a cropped faux leather jacket, what do you think?

But where is the best place to get a top?

An ulterior motive......I don't know.........

I think black skinny jeans, with some high heels (if you can walk in them!) - and maybe a floaty blouse or a pretty top

Have your hair and makeup done nicely - maybe with some red lipstick Smile

FabMum1 · 27/02/2013 19:52

WhyIRayLiotta I love those tops, thank you so much for the suggestions
I'm heading out Friday to have a look

I find it difficult to wear bright lipstick, any suggestions?

I am not any kind of beauty expert at all! - But personally - I think that if I am wearing a darker colour on my lips - I would keep my eyes quite subtle... something like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=brown+pale+eye+shadow+liner&start=98&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&biw=1680&bih=869&tbm=isch&tbnid=ytckfcNzHvIyKM:&imgrefurl=tiahaar.blogspot.com/2011/07/even-more-eye-make-up-looks-with-inglot.html&docid=j_EPBISlx0HCEM&imgurl=3.bp.blogspot.com/-ElfTo-KPgkA/TjGU1LWpkqI/AAAAAAAAARQ/1pRnJZxhZW4/s1600/inglot_neutral1.jpg&w=400&h=299&ei=i28uUY27H-TD0QXOz4GIDg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=188&sig=103917182733149008574&page=3&tbnh=142&tbnw=190&ndsp=56&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:100,i:19&tx=149&ty=95this" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=brown+pale+eye+shadow+liner&start=98&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&biw=1680&bih=869&tbm=isch&tbnid=ytckfcNzHvIyKM:&imgrefurl=tiahaar.blogspot.com/2011/07/even-more-eye-make-up-looks-with-inglot.html&docid=j_EPBISlx0HCEM&imgurl=3.bp.blogspot.com/-ElfTo-KPgkA/TjGU1LWpkqI/AAAAAAAAARQ/1pRnJZxhZW4/s1600/inglot_neutral1.jpg&w=400&h=299&ei=i28uUY27H-TD0QXOz4GIDg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=188&sig=103917182733149008574&page=3&tbnh=142&tbnw=190&ndsp=56&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:100,i:19&tx=149&ty=95this

Line your lips, put on the colour and maybe set with lipcote I bought it the other day and it worked really well when I went out.

Are we hoping for any kissing though...? Grin

Love that eye makeup, thank you so much

Whenever I've worn bright coloured lips before it seems to run outside mylip line. Would lip cote stop that?

Smile don't know about kisses....

ok, we are a similar size and at the mo i would wear ink blue skinnies with dark grey ankle boots (mine are ash jalouse) with a charcoal grey slouchy tee and a cropped leather biker jacket over the top.

hope that helps a bit?

FabMum1 · 27/02/2013 21:23

Thanks foxysocks
Was thinking about maybe some waxy skinnies, what do you think?
With black boots, black cropped leather jacket and a top (that still needs to be bought)
