Help!!

Im crap with fancy dress and need to do somethig that fots the brief in the title. I usually try and do a comical fancy dress rather than glam (bit of a jeans and tshirt girl!) but feel Im going to need to be a bit snazzy.

Any links or.ideas for costumes or bits I can put together to fit in would be much appreciated

Hmm, well, I'd probably have a look at carnival masks on Google and then either buy or make something similar.

For clothes, it depends. Anything 'ball-gowny' to fit the colours of the mask - either borrow or check what's available in your local vintage/second-hand shops (and don't rule out wedding ones...), and make a cloak in a toning material to up the glam factor.

(Cloak is easy to do - large swathe of material, half as wide again as you, and long enough to go from heel to an inch over the top of your head. Iron on hem all round. Pin the edges of the material in place on your shoulders, with suitable space for your head and use a couple of diamante clips to cover the pins. Voila - one hooded cloak!)

Hmm - not entirely! Grin

You could go for something from the first line of the Amazon search ? And wear with a tuxedo a la Marlene Dietrich?

P.S. - chucking sparkly bits on your jeans and t-shirt does not count as 'Dress to Impress' Wink
