Am I the only person who hasn't ever had a bikini wax?

My friend was asking me for recommendations of waxing places in my area when she was staying and I told her that I didn't know as I have never been waxed.
She was so shocked at the though that its been playing on my mind.

Do most people?

I just get the thought that its going to be ever so painful and scare myself from tribg it.

Nope, never waxed. Shaved once, but not done it since as I just cannot be bothered.

I've had my eyebrows waxed and my top lip.

I'm lazy overall though as I haven't shaved my legs or underarms for months.

SaladIsMyFriend · 23/02/2013 19:57

LRD I haven't had my ears pierced either, just never felt the need and am also a giant wuss

LRDtheFeministDragon · 23/02/2013 19:59

Grin Wusses of the world, unite.

I've never waxed my nether regions. I did my legs once and it was agony so never tried it again. I can imagine that armpits would be particularly sore (if they even do these). But then I'm lucky ebnough not to be massively hairy. I have a couple of welsh friends and they say they really have to keep on top of it.

ILikeBirds · 23/02/2013 20:01

Nope, never had one either but then I don't have hair anywhere that a standard bikini wax (i.e. not a brazilian) would touch. Took me years to actually work out what a bikini wax was if not a brazilian.

I am very fond of my luxuriant bush.

bishboschone · 23/02/2013 20:03

I haven't

InTheoryBut · 23/02/2013 20:05

Me neither. It causes pain, and you have to expose your bits to a stranger. Why would you do that?

whatyoulookinat · 23/02/2013 20:08

Never had it done by someone else but do wax at home.
kohl waxing doesn't have to make you look pre pubescent! I don't remove the whole lot.

auntpetunia · 23/02/2013 20:09

Another one who hasn't ever! I recently had a hysterectomy and the nurse was obviously surprised when she came to check my dressing, I'd trimmed the area for the incision (which I thought was very good of me) to save them doing it with a dry razor. I can't see the point.

SaladIsMyFriend · 23/02/2013 20:45

Grin at luxuriant bush practicality

I waxed my armpits once. Each follicle was about the size of a golf ball, and caused pin-pricks of blood all over my armpits. Never again.

janji · 24/02/2013 00:28

Only once, did the full body thing for wedding day. These days far too embarrassed of my wobbly bod so very or shave in privacy of my own bathroom ta very much!

BreconBeBuggered · 24/02/2013 00:32

QuietNinjaTardis · 24/02/2013 00:39

No chance. I did one wax strip on my leg once and promptly chucked the rest in the bin. There's no fooking way someone's doing that close to my delicate bits. I shave legs and pits and trim a bit elsewhere and that's it. Like it or lump it.

kohl · 24/02/2013 00:40

Fair point what - it was just what I immediately thought of, having had a rage inducing convo about this earlier today.
Also Grin at hairy welsh friends!

CointreauVersial · 24/02/2013 00:43

No wax has ever been near my nethers.

I do tidy up the knicker spiders in the summer - sometimes ( if I'm feeling brave) with the epilator. That makes the eyes water.

buttercrumble · 24/02/2013 18:54

Never i would never go through any pain in the name of beauty...

noyouhavehadawee · 24/02/2013 19:17
