Need "black tie" dress to fit/flatter big chest

Calling all style and beauty effortlessly stylish people! I'm looking for a dress for a black tie work awards evening to be held at a swanky London hotel soon.

I'm a top-heavy kind of shape, i.e. no hips and not much waist definition but good chest.

Can anyone recommend any suitable dresses? I'm thinking maybe something sweetheart/strapless - would like to show a bit of cleavage as that's my style and higher necklines look like I'm being strangled!

Besides that, it just needs to be long.

Any suggestions gratefully received, and l'll post a link to any that I find.

Thanks so much in advance,

I'd go for either an empire line or something with a relatively low cut, but supported bust (Viennne Westood type) and a fishtail to balance out.

Mind you, having said that this one could look great if the front is low enough.

Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, a Vivienne Westwood type style is exactly what I'm picturing, something perhaps a bit corset-y and fishtail is a great suggestion. Will see what I can find like that.

I do like the Halston one v. much but don't think I can carry off full metallic.

I have a large frontage, and would suggest you stick to matt fabrics as much as poss. I find empire line enhances my bust, but I lose everything else underneath - so tread carefully!

I'd suggest keeping an eye out for anything cut in a V neck.

love this but not in the print

Now I just need to find that for £200ish. Wish me luck!

Thanks Blue2. Good point about the matte fabric and V neck works on me. Got some serious hunting to do...

This from House of Fraser looks nice, they have lots if that isn't to your taste!

Wow LittlePandaBear, I was just about to link to the same dress! I really like that. Going to House of Fraser tomorrow to try that one, this one and this one I think. Any opinions on these welcome.

Thanks Tethersend, I hadn't thought of that sort of shape (the Ghost one) and can see it would be flattering. Will take a look at it tomorrow and possibly the Pippa one which is very pretty.
