Do you own a Claire Pettibone wedding dress?

And if you do, size 14, would you be willing to hire it out/sell it to a desperate woman?!

I made the fatal mistake of going to try on some Pettibones just to 'rule them out', as I had seen them on the internet and thought they looked different to the usual strapless, big princess dresses that would make me look like a foam covered whale.

I tried some on - I fell in love with them - and now I am stuck as I can't really afford a new one, as we are TTC I can't be sure that I would fit in to one that had been ordered 6 months in advance! I just can't justify it if there is a chance I could be 5 or 6 months up the duff when it arrives! (fingers crossed, the ttc is totally overriding the wedding!)

If you would be willing to hire me yours for a few days in December, I would be happy to pay you generously for helping me out, and also pay to have it professionally cleaned afterwards.

Have you tried eBay? I've seen a few pop up on there. Also there are lots of websites which specialise in second and wedding dresses, pre loved etc.. I hope you find one, they are stunning

The ones I have seen are almost as much as a new one, as obviously brides have paid for alterations etc...they are gorgeous and I can understand why they fetch almost as much secondhand! I am hoping if someone will lend me one, they get to keep their beautiful dress and make a bit of cash...could be a little sideline moneyspinner for someone, as lots of people seem to be looking for them!
