HELP!!! Fake Tan Virgin!

Have bought some fake tan to put on for the wedding we're going to next Saturday, but I've never used it before.

I have been exfoliating and moisturising for about 3 days and would like to do a trial run to see how it goes. I have got the Sanctuary Self Tan Lotion in a pump action bottle.

Has anyone used this one and any tips for applying so I don't end up streaky. Can't tell you how worried I am about this!

OK the results are not too bad! Wish I had read about not doing my knees. They are awful.

The rest is quite good - not streaky but just a couple of pale patches arouns wrists.

Will have another go maybe Thursday night and see. The colour is noticeable but quite pale. Could probably take another coat!

To avoid streaks was told that after applying lotion wipe over knees, ankles and elbows with a baby wipe or cotton pad with water. If you have streaks rub with a flannel and some bath cleaner or use nail varnish. Perhaps avoid if you have sensitive skin but does work if you are desperate!!!

get a mit! or i use one of dh's sport socks inside out ...always works never any streaks! moisturise knees and feet before hand! BTW i use fake bake! fantastic stuff!

Only experiance I had of the bloody stuff was centuries ago when it only came in "American Tan" sort of colour. My best friend tanned in a heartbeat used it all the time, so getting ready one summer saturday night to go out I (pale as can be)used some of hers, not a massive amount left in the tube so I thought "OK I'll just do the bits that show"
I was wearing a white gypsy skirt (when they were fashionable the 1st time round)
FAB night out, everyone remarking how tanned I was - it was dark in the clubs!! made up some cock and bull story about being in St Tropez or somewhere - forgot all about it ( helped by much wine) and got up to dance, twirled around in a frenzy only to show half my legs a deep Bisto colour to the knees and the rest ... well ... white verging on blue ..... Exit one mortified teenager!!
