Does anyone want to help me with party dress inspiration? Budget under £150

I'm at a loss, have been shopping a few times and looked in my usual places (Topshop, French Connection, Whistles...can't remember where else) and can't find any evening dresses I like. Almost all my clothes are casual and I never buy party dresses, so I have no idea what I want.

Ideally would like something with a vintage feel (love polka dots) but am open to all suggestions and styles.

I'm 5'5", slim, with broad shoulders so puffed or frilly sleeves are out. Above the knee suits me a lot better than knee-length or longer.

TIA, if anyone out there is in the mood to help :)

Oh, and if it's a lot less than £150 I will be very happy!

feverdesigns.co.uk have some nice stuff in. Not sure if they would be your kind of style though.

Love some of the Libelula things too Tertius - especially the little black sequin one that's way out of my budget!

This is great, I'd never heard of either of these!

link hasnt worked properly:( can be worn about 7 ways!

That's rather gorgeous cremeeggsrock - really love the colour. Would be slightly worried that there's too much material in the skirt and I'd have to wear skyscraper heels, but could be worth a try.

It's okay I found it by googling multiway dress.

i love too, been looking at it for a while trying to find somewear to wear it though! its fab its a proper forever dress, so so versatile!

PrincessRagnhild · 20/02/2013 16:53

The more I think about it the more it seems like a good investment cremeeggs! This woman wears it well and she links to a similar, more expensive version here. Hmm...

Hobbs used to do a gorgeous dress called 'Audrey', I'm not sure if they still do it but they had it plain and polka dot in lots of colours. I have plain black and red polka dot and just love them. Not sure how to do clickable link though.
