But her clothes just don't do it for me anymore :( I thought it was a phase, but it's now ages since I thought "wow! I love that look"... It's all a bit too casual and a tad err messy :( she just seems to have gone off the boil for me...

Has her style changed? or it's it something wrong with me? Should I check into Boden/Per Una???

I like Kat a lot, she seems a genuinely lovely person and has always been helpful when I've tweeted her with any questions. some of her clothes aren't things I would buy or wear but I think she's doing SUCH a brave thing posting like that regularly. good on her - and the other fashion bloggers - I say.

Ruby - I got the jacket in the small and yes you couldn't wear a jumper underneath comfotably but for me I wanted something to go over a tshirt really.

My arms aren't skinny and I found it fine and to be honest you need slim arms on a quilted jacket to avoid the michelin look I think.

Amber - if you join the mn bloggers network you can link away

Amber could I cheekily ask you to PM your link to me too?

catanddog of course!

mrsCB I have applied, but my application is still being processed, I think. Does it take a while?

40 is ok, quite readable although she doesn't half go on a bit at times. Just bought some nude brogues then saw them featured on her page so I'm obviously down with fashion. Haha

Only just discovered her I really like her, I have been dragging a few things out of storage to wear again, inspired by her. I don't want to look like her, but wish I did just a little bit and I love her house too I just like seeing how outfits are put together and her love of layering is perfect for British weather.

The thing I don't get about DoesMyBumLook40 is what, exactly, is the difference between her look and the Baukjen catalogue.

My favourite fashion blog at the mo is the utterly individual Buttercup's Frocks. I'll never have her chutzpah, or her massive collection of bonkers jewellery, but I love to look at what she wears.

I still like Rebecca amarin as she has some nice non fashion bits too. She is quite 'normal' figure and looks wise too, although I do love the more unrealistic ones Smile

Golly they muct be very busy Amber - I'd chase them a bit . . .

I do love Wendy and Atlantic I must say in the same way I love Vogue

Laura Elner's lookbook is good too for ideas although she is in NY I think so can emulate the shapes but not buy the actual clothes

I love the Blonde Salad. Though, she got gifted a Birkin last week. How can any of us compete with that! :)

Lucky thing.

I like the one who did this look but can't remember which one it is.

I really like Kat's blog, though I am thoroughly perplexed by everyone's interest in that TRF floral quilted jacket. Maybe that's because when I tried it on, I looked like someone's gran!!

I preferred this floral jacket

Mrs CB looks sweet in the padded jacket - I'd look like Bertha Rochester at best.

I agree that Bum has got a bit samey, but I do still like to read it. I've found myself enjoying Pinterest more than going back to the same blogs I was reading three months ago. I still love Wendy et al but its fantasy fashion.

I like 40 Bum's writing style, agree her outfits are a bit samey but luckily my style is quite similar so I still pick up some ideas. I like to visit blogs like Wendy and AP occasionally for an inspiration splurge, but don't enjoy them on a daily basis.

I do like Amber's blog (and writing style), but won't link it for fear of wrist slapping Wink

I miss thesuburbanstyle, when she got pregnant she just stopped blogging, no 'bye, I'm taking a break' or anything, I missed her!

Just looked though and after a gap from October through to February she has just started blogging again, on Feb 12th.

Mrs CB thanks for the arms tip, have now ordered along with a further 4 items that made their way into my basket! Are you from the worn out blog? If so I am coveting your Zara necklace and fine knitwear!
Can anyone send me a link to Amber's blog?
i like pinterest alot, can spend hours on there.

surely somebody without a vested interest (i.e. not the bloggers themselves) can post links to all these blogs - whenever I Google them, I'm never convinced I've found the right ones... pretty please? Wink

I love 40bum precisely BECAUSE of her writing style - its warms and obviously 'her' and honest and enjoyable. She has a lot more money then I but even so is obviously overjoyed by finding a bargain, and I LOVE that she posts pictures from the shop floor and from changing rooms - it makes me feel like I'm there with her (er, but not in a stalkery way!) and because I don't have time to go out hunting and trying things on its lovely to live vicariously through her! More pics from the shop floor! Oooh, I also like it when she posts pics from the promotional material next to 'real life' pics from the shop floor. In short (ha, as if!) I love the depth of her research and her obvious commitment to each post.

I'm a teacher and this post feels a bit like marking a student's work. Two stars and a wish haha!

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but ARGHHH. I want to scream at the awkward, self deprecating, aww shucks, little girl poses!!!DLMB40- stop it!! the hunched, round shoulders/hands on hip or in pockets/sunken chest pose makes you look almost deformed and are driving me potty.

todays extreme version

....and breathe.........

Drywhiteplease · 20/07/2014 09:09

Merriboo why don't you just stop reading the blog? Confused

Although I suspect a lot of her poses are ironic. She makes me laugh. Still haven't recovered from her outfit to visit a farm a couple of summers ago, and her summer-long rant at the rain .........a very funny lady.
