have been using it for YEARS and always swore by it

i have noticed it doesnt seem to hide my dark circles anywhere near as well anymore.....maybe they are getting beyond help :(

has this happened to any other TE devotees?

any suggestions on anything BETTER than TE? (would never have believed there was such a thing.....)

Bobbi Brown corrector (there is another thread about dark circles where I mentioned it)

2cats222 · 16/02/2013 21:26

Snap, touche eclat now does nothing for mine. Am nervoud about Bobbi Brown after buying their cream blusher and finding it so 'hard' i couldn't get it onto my fingers from the jar never mind my cheeks!

Moo - can I ask what kind of complexion you have?
Moody - apologies for the hijack/hitch-hike on your thread

Benefit Erase Paste. I am 26, super pale and have a nearly-1 year old who co-sleeps (but doesn't really sleep). This stuff works wonders.

Peggotty · 16/02/2013 21:29

Is there anything that doesn't settle into fine lines/wrinkles as well as covering dark circles?!?

showtunesgirl · 16/02/2013 21:30

Touche Eclat is NOT a concealer and never has been, it's a light reflector so in fact doesn't conceal.

Kanebo's concealer however IS a concealer and I would highly recommend it. A make up artist recommended it to me and it's much much better than TE for under eye.

XiCi · 16/02/2013 21:31

I don't think touche ecait is supposed to hide dark circles.its a highlighter not a concealer.
I swear by benefit as well

BoringSchoolChoiceNickname · 16/02/2013 21:31

Benefit erase paste.

Wiggletastic · 16/02/2013 21:35

Bobbi Brown corrector plus Clinique airbrush concealer works for me. I have also heard good things about By Terry Touche Veloutee but really couldn't justify the price.

XiCi · 16/02/2013 21:36

Benefit boi-ing, that is.its amazing

showtunesgirl · 16/02/2013 21:36

The problem with Benefit Erase Paste is that it doesn't work on olive / yellow toned skin. Sad

showtunesgirl · 16/02/2013 21:37

Oh and if you want a cheapy alternative, the Barbara Daly under eye brush concealer is pretty good!

MyGlassIsJustHalfWet · 16/02/2013 21:42

Erase paste. Number 1 I think is best for yellow/olive skins.

WipsGlitter · 16/02/2013 21:43

By Terry. Expensive but worth it.

showtunesgirl · 16/02/2013 21:46

MyGlass I've tried it and it's still too pink toned!

MooMinCow · 16/02/2013 21:48

2cats -medium Asian skin tone, so my dark circles are more skin pigmentation i think and look a darker brown colour, rather than the blue-y/purple-y circles that paler skin can get.

Maraki · 16/02/2013 21:54

I use 2 coats of double wear estee lauder foundation and then concealer (any) on top. I have very pale skin and a DD that hasn't slept for 5 years.

MoodyDidIt · 17/02/2013 10:47

thanks for the advice

i am pale btw

Another benefit erase paste fan - seems to cover dark circles and brighten skin.

GetOrf · 17/02/2013 11:14

By Terry Touche Veloute.

Designed by the same person whod esigned Touche Eclat, but designed as a concealer not as a highlighter, so it actually works. It about 35 quid from Space NK.

Failing that Laura Mercier does a good one for about 20 quid. But nothing is as good as the By Terry. It's the only thing which covers my purple shadows. I am very pale as well btw.

WipsGlitter · 17/02/2013 17:07

I'm v pale too. The By Terry one is the best one I've found.

RosamundLehmann · 17/02/2013 20:47

I swapped over from Benefit erase paste to a Laura Mercier concealer and now prefer it - Erase paste sat in my crows feet more as it's a thicker texture than the Laura Mercier one.

I have also been using the new Clinique under eye stuff amd I think it has actually made my dark circles a little bit less pronounced.

I've just discovered Rimmel Match Perfection concealer. It's £5.99 and so far am very impressed. This coming from someone who hasn't touched anything by Rimmel since ca. 1977.
It's in a tube with a brush, which does mean that you may squeeze a bit too much product down into the brush. I use a separate concealer brush to pick up product from tube brush.
It applies beautifully. It doesn't sit in my fine lines and it does a good job with my dark circles.
It's replaced my previous Ellis Faas concealer which is £23.
There are only 3 shades available though and I only recommend the concealer. I got a small sample of the Match Perfection foundation and didn't like it at all.

MoodyDidIt · 18/02/2013 13:24

ooh am liking the sound of that blackden

might try it as its cheap :o

Moody I'm very surprised by how much I like it. Give it a try if you can find a shade that works for you.
