Taupe Suede Jalouse Boots with Black Tights?

I bought a black fine knit dress today with black leather pockets from Zara. Plan on wearing with 80-100 denier black opaque tights. So that I don't look like the grim reaper I don't really want to wear black boots aswell

I have a pair of these taupe Boots

Now, I have no problem wearing them with black skinny jeans, but do you think the colour is too pale to wear on my feet with black tights and a black dress? I vaguely know that there is a 'rule' that black tights and pale coloured shoes should never be seen

Opinions please oh stylish ones .... Thanks

P.s dress is above the knee and fitted if that helps you visualise!

I don't know, they do look a bit pale for black tights. Although.... Maybe it would work. Do you have really good legs to show off? If you do then anything will look good.

Without wanting to sound like a brag, my legs are good (until you get to the top of my thighs but no one is going to be seeing them). But yeah, it's one of those undecided ones - the boots might just be too pale to wear with black tights. Don't want to go all black though and don't have any dark brown boots none that I like anymore anyway

Hey wear them. Other alternatives - patterned or lacy black tights (yes, they could work). Or big dangly earrings to sort of balance it.

How about the black boots with tights that aren't black?

Dress is probably too short too wear with patterned or lacy tights. But yes, gold necklace, might balance it out. Thinking of a dark khaki green jacket on top and burgundy or cream scarf for when I'm outside so that might balance out the paleness of the boots against black opaques.

It would look nice with plum or charcoal colour tights but black makes my legs look slimmer and whilst I love them on other people I'm not sure if coloured tights are my 'thing' - I always feel like a self conscious dick in them for some reason o

Will have another trying on session tomorrow - thanks!

Coloured tights used to be a bit dick-ish, but lately they seem to have become quite cool. I wear them quite regularly and feel that they look okay. Same goes for nude tights. There are no rules.....
