La Redoute - dodginess update, gets worse

After having my orders cancelled without notice, see the Pound Shirt thread where tale of woe is added to many others, I've just noticed that La Redoute are not only cancelling orders without notice but keeping the customers money.

I've had money taken twice from my bank account - no sign of a refund. I'm chasing them now, but this is worse than annoying - it's very naughty.

I don't think I will be buying from them, the lady i spoke to on customer service was quite rude to me. I also had the item cancelled without any email or anything, eventhough i did have a confirmation to say that my order went through and will be despatched shortly.

That's really really bad Corygal. Hope you get your money back sharpish. I hate it when companies behave like this, getting interest of money wrongly taken. Bastards.

Oh heck! That IS bad. I've just ordered some curtains from them. First time I've bought anything from there. Fingers crossed. I hope you get sorted corygal. You could always threaten to write to one of the money problem pages in the papers if they don't shape up soon?

Oh no! I love LR clothes, was planning to order a ton of stuff next month :(

MrsMangoBiscuit · 11/02/2013 18:17

Well I ordered the other day too. My order has been confirmed, but as of yet they haven't taken the money. I phoned up as the discount was showing fine when I put the order through, but on the email it wasn't showing. The woman I spoke to was nice, polite, and helpful. So far so good for me. I will update if it goes tits up though.

I have only ordered from them once, and I was shocked at the '1980s catalogue' way of doing things - my order took about 2 and a half months to complete. I actually forgot about the final item as it had been so long since I ordered it. They didn't keep me posted about why things were so delayed, I had to email and phone them, and they were sitting on my money for ages!

Their stuff is alright and cheap, but considering Amazon and the rest can get orders out to you in hours rather than months, I can't believe they get away with such poor service.

They are getting worse. I had a free voucher and postage due to previous order error but it wouldn't work on their website.
Phoned and apparently could only buy full priced items from the winter catalogue. Unfortunately they had reduced everything.
I phoned again and order was taken on reduced priced skirt and leggings.
Order arrives. The leggings were in the right bag but completely wrong item.
Phoned again.
Returned leggings, new leggings sent.
Bill arrives- charged for both.
Phoned again. Lady explains it was due to items outstanding from the summer! I talked her through my invoice (showing two pairs of leggings) and she refunded me.

I've bought a few clothes from there, but now I keep getting emails asking me to review things I've never ordered! They haven't refunded me for items I've returned but have refunded me for things I've kept.

The sizing is up the creek: a pair of size 14-16 trousers is quite small on me when I'm usually a 10.

There's a particular woman on customer service who I find tends to treat me as an annoyance too.

They try to keep you interetsed by sending you new offers and discount codes every day (or it feels like it) yet, of course, you're not allowed to use them for the things you want to order.

Having finally got my refund for a pair of tights that were sewn together the wrong way round (one of the legs was back-to front!) I don't think I'll be shopping there again.
