Is it possible to dress up a work trouser suit to make it suitable for a wedding?

I was thinking smart high heeled sandals and a nice top under the jacket. Or do you think it would still look to "officey".

possibly depends on the colour of the suit

What colour? Maybe if not black.

High heels, nice nail varnish, floaty top, hair up maybe? Nice corsage. Bit of jewellery....

perhaps a flower on the lapel and nice accessories - what colour suit?

I did exactly that a few years ago - very plain black suit, red top with sequin design on it, red, sparkly amazing shoes. I think the accessories & top do need to be quite OTT and eveningy so that you don't look too executive.

ooh yes, and a red corsage too.

yes! So long as it's not obviously pinstriped or anything.

I only have one wearable suit - shameful I know but barely ever need one - and wear it for the rare work occasion and wintery weddings. In fact, I bought it on the advice on MN...

It's all in the accesories - go for glam rather than smart. Mine is brown moleskin and for work it gets a collared shirt, brown boots, bun, glasses and serious briefcase.
For weddings it gets pedicure, extremely glam bronze heeled sandals, cream satin camisole thing, statement necklace, long earrings, loose curled hair and knockout spangly bag.

Great, that was I was thinking, something quite loud to move it away from the office. It is a very dark blue (almost black) with a thin blue pin stripe. God, sounds like a bloke's! It is very nice, recently brought from Next, and I don't want to splash out again on a special wedding outfit.

Oh, it is pin stripe Blush, but not really obviously, very subtle thin stripe to it.

sounds good - perhaps try it with light blue or silver accessories/shoes etc?

light blue/silver would be nice Smile
